His Love is a community funded outreach center centered on pregnant women. To help them learn to care for themselves, their future child, etc. They do this all for free to the Moms even to the point of giving them maternity and baby clothing, actually paying them to take classes and on and on. It's one of those things that people that are pro life are always told we should do....and it's being done here and has been. You know, one of those putting your $$ where your mouth is things. Oh yeah....and it's being done up here in the poor uneducated hicksville county that people like to talk about in a negative way. Must be that some of the deplorables actually take this love thy neighbor thing seriously.

I'm sorry to disappoint you by letting you know it doesn't involve little boys and priests, you can keep those thoughts in your imagination for tonight.

nah it's cool - I just get a little nervous when country folks start talking about running for His Love. Shocked

"Bob for Apples" - seems like an event the Mio Chamber of Commerce and Cultural Enrichment could promote.

Does Mio ever sleep?  Serious, that town is out of hand.   It's like New York but without the people, buildings night clubs restaurants taxi's theaters stadiums and bright lights.  I'd love hanging out there for like a week or so.

Oh Wags, I only post a fraction of the events I don't want the green monster of envy to overtake this thread.

Why just today they're giving away all the free garden vegetables you want or need. The 2nd giveaway like this for the week, people helping people it warms my heart.

Got some nice comb honey yesterday from a local beekeeper. Some damned fine tasting stuff. Do you like comb honey?

The Ausable River is actually flooding a bit. I've never seen it in my life. It was actually over Cherry Creek Rd by the Whirlpool. (Right down the road from Floyd's baker woman)

With all the blow sand up here it takes a bit of water to do that. I guess a river gauge that was installed in 1995
at the Parmalee Bridge is showing it's highest water lever ever.

The AuSable river at the Mio dam spillway yesterday.   Any of you that are familiar with the AuSable know how crazy this is.   This is just upstream from where the Mio liveries launch their canoes.

Normal view, same location.

No worries about that, I don't recall any brown people getting shot up here. When the rare shooting does occur it's usually one drunk redneck shooting another, so I think you're pretty safe.

Hmmmmm...I wonder how the inventory of auto loading shotguns is.  That's my next purchase, I think.  The old 500A is a workhorse, but not great for birds.

Well the bonus is that even if you don't find the gun you want you can stick around for Trunk or Treat....and load up on candy.

The rain was ridiculous the past few days. I kept checking the radar and nothing was moving, it looked like a hurricane pattern.
