Are the Las Vegas Knights making it to the finals good or bad for hockey?

I accept it's a great story. But is it really good for hockey? Does it expose how much puck luck plays a role? Does it show that you can muck it up enough in the game to level the playing field? I can't see how either football, basketball, or baseball could have anything similar happen. Have any of them even had a team break .500 in their expansion year?

They were taken in as a merger team from the AAFC
