I see the totality of his chains as a metaphor representing the chains placed there by the DC police and the imperialist white power structure cemented in place to keep the young black man and all of D.C. powerless against all the decisions being made regarding their future without actually having a say in any of the process. 5'11" is short but part of the DT job is clogging the middle to set up linebackers for run defense and he'd be low enough to abuse centers.

A lot of coaches never gave Bob Sanders a second look. He had a boatload of tackles at Erie Cathedral Prep but he was 5'8". Ferentz offered and got a 3 time All Big Ten defensive player.
