Curb Your Enthusiasm - Season 9 Thread

Post by Death Roe on 2016-06-14, 17:31

Larry David confirmed it today, HBO confirmed it as well.

JB Smoove said he'd drop everything to do more Curb, so Leon is back.

Hell yeah!

I've had watery pea soup, it's AWFUL.
Uh, I've had gelatinous, thick pea soup, it's TERRIBLE.
Pea soup, much like clam chowder, needs to have that consistency first, that you can stand the spoon up in it, but the spoon soon tilts, that's the consistency you want.
Number two: Uh, pea soup on it's own can be a little bland. It wants, uh, a fairly aggressive peppering and salting.
Number three: Pea soup needs a fine dice of ham. Not bacon, not any other meat, not turkey. It needs a fine dice of ham.
Uh, number four: Uh, pea soup scorches easily. You don't wanna heat it on a high heat. You wanna heat it on medium low, just until it's warmed through.
Uh, number five: Pea soup is best made, uh, by hand, not out of a Campbell's can. And the key to pea soup, you want a ham bone, uh, for the stock you make, uh, to, to boil your peas.

Season 9 officially starts filming the day after the election.

Leon, Susie, and Richard Lewis are all coming back (I pray that Jeff and Funkhouser are back). Cheryl is also returning for this season, too.

JB Smoove has said that Curb season 9 will start on October 1. Not official, but sounds like the area they were shooting for.

You missed Cheryl leaving Larry because he hung up on her during her flight, which almost crashed, so he could make sure the TiVo guy fixed everything for him.

You really should watch the seasons again.

Larry and Jerry don't want to slide over to let Richard Lewis into a restaurant booth. Lewis storms off and later introduces himself as the invisible Jew.

Cheryl is a much better looking Mrs. David than Laurie David could have ever hoped to be. She's truly frightening.

It was alright, definitely not their best. Good parts but a little over the top for my liking. Seemed to be trying too hard. I hope it does not go this route for the entire season- otherwise they need to end it.

Definitely over the top and a little too slick for my tastes. The characters are caricatures at this point. The best part was Leon telling Larry to foist the Bitch.

I think it's one of those deals where we were all so fired up about the return, almost anything they did would be a disappointment.

Look, I can't stand any of the shit that's on t.v., don't know the last time I watched a sit com. Cheers or seinfeld I guess. Compared to the shit that passes for comedy on the three major networks today, that episode is/was way better. But yeah, like you guys I was a bit let down too. Still happy it's on.

We rewatched about three or four seasons in anticipation of this years season.I think it’s probably the best show ever made. The season with the Blacks is my favorite.

I think it was as good as we could ask for for them being gone over 6 years. I think it'll get better as the season goes on.
