Going to be an interesting year in the Big Ten. Michigan State is on Izzo Island. Everyone else is just trying to gain access. Won't be easy.

Some minor trivia to amuse my very good friends here:

MSU BB is likely to be ranked #1 tomorrow.

The other 2 players from LouRawls class have started every game for their new teams.
Javon Bess leads St Louis in scoring @ 14 or so a game.
Marvin Clark is scoring 11 a game for St Johns.

I don't think Floyd ever dissed my pies. That blueberry was the truth. And though it wasn't as pretty I think the apple tastes even better, though I would pick blueberry over apple every time.

I've had watery pea soup, it's AWFUL.
Uh, I've had gelatinous, thick pea soup, it's TERRIBLE.
Pea soup, much like clam chowder, needs to have that consistency first, that you can stand the spoon up in it, but the spoon soon tilts, that's the consistency you want.
Number two: Uh, pea soup on it's own can be a little bland. It wants, uh, a fairly aggressive peppering and salting.
Number three: Pea soup needs a fine dice of ham. Not bacon, not any other meat, not turkey. It needs a fine dice of ham.
Uh, number four: Uh, pea soup scorches easily. You don't wanna heat it on a high heat. You wanna heat it on medium low, just until it's warmed through.
Uh, number five: Pea soup is best made, uh, by hand, not out of a Campbell's can. And the key to pea soup, you want a ham bone, uh, for the stock you make, uh, to, to boil your peas.

Couch has Duke at #1 on his ballot. MSU beat writers worry too much about what people will think about them. I doubt any Duke beat writers give a shit.

2nd best college player, best NBA prospect.

And Allen was out of his mind, won't happen again.

And Allen hasn't hit more than 3 3's in a game since then. At this point it would be worth arguing that Oklahoma is in that top tier. I'm just saying that if you turned the tables around and we beat Duke, but lost to Wisconsin (this year), Duke would be #1 and no one would be arguing it. Our beat writers are so scared to not be seen as impartial, they go too far many times. I thought the same of Rexrode at times.

I think tomorrow is going to be a really tough game. I don't know why, but as a reminder winning on the road in the B1G conference season is fucking difficult. Actually I do know why, but it's going to be tough to win.

Here is my prediction.

J3 picks up his 2nd foul about 4 minutes into the game.
Ward picks up his 2nd with about 8 min left in 1H.
Schilling has 2 fouls before half.
Winston gets 2 quick fouls against him early in the 2h and has to sit with 3.
JJJ comes back in and fouls out by the 12 minute mark of the 2nd half.
Ward plays with 4 for most of the second half and can't be aggressive.
Schilling fouls out by the under 8 timeout
MSU finishes the game trying to hold onto a single digit lead with Bridges, Goins, Tum, McQuaid and Langford and ultimately has a 30-13 disparity at the FT line.

Not much yet GW, just sippin. Not even a full drink in.

I'm exaggerating a bit and don't get me wrong, I could not give a shit if we lose tomorrow and I will enjoy the season plenty.

But I just remembered today when I was thinking about the game that a scenario like the above is pretty common playing on the road in the B1G and is gonna happen to us more than once.

We have a potential matchup problem if/when JJJ gets in foul trouble. They have a 6'8 stretch four who can shoot it from anywhere and score the ball. He scored 27 last game.

Wags is gonna freak out when we have to bench Puddin for Goins to match up once Jackson is on the bench.

I’m not worried.

Bridges can defend him also. Izzo will figure it out.

I agree it's going to happen more than once. We all know I t's rough on the road in the conference. That's why I mentioned it'd best to sit back and watch the season unfold. It's been and will be a fun ride.
Some among us may freak out with every regular season loss (not saying you're one of them), and to them I'd remind them the 2000 title team lost seven games, while the '79 champs lost six.
