Fargo (tv series)
Anyone been watching this? Just got caught up off the DVR. I'm enjoying it so far but the last episode was kinda ridiculous. It's Coen Brothers though, so what do you expect.
Martin Freeman is fantastic. It's gotta be tough for a British actor to get into that role. A little underwhelmed with Bob Odenkirk's character.

I've only watched the pilot but from what I saw I dug it. Here's hoping the rest of it is worth watching.

Re: Fargo (tv series)
Billy Bob's character is great. I love Freeman on Sherlock, but I can kind of take him or leave him as the William H Macy character. His Minnesota/Dakota accent kind of irks me, I think it got better later in the season compared to the pilot though.
Good show. I'm guessing it's going to be a one off season like True Detective? Not sure how they would stretch it into multiple seasons.

Odenkirk's role as Sherrif Oswalt has so far been a throwaway. They could have given it to anyone and it wouldn't have mattered. No great scenes, and no great lines, IMHO.
Caveat that I haven't watched this week's episode yet.
It's enjoyable but Thornton is the really the only saving grace. Colin Hanks' role has been nothing short of annoying.

People in Fargo don't talk like that ( much). In Morehead and the rest of Northern Minnesota you will way more often hear that accent. Just an observation from doing quite a bit of business in Fargo area recently.

The show takes place primarily in Bemidji.

I guess I wasn't paying close enough attention to the movie. I saw it once a long, long time ago.

In the movie, there are scenes in both Fargo and Minnesota. In the show, pretty sure it's all been Minnesota.

It was just a brief shot of a Minnesota-MSU hockey game, when she was in the hospital.

If you watched this week's episode, you're in luck, because the "big chick" is bigger than ever!

I have to admit doing a 180 on Lester. Couldn't stand him in the beginning but was definitely rooting for him by the end. Freeman did a great job.

I wonder if HBO is kicking themselves for not picking this show up. I'm assuming the creators went to them before FX. This season is shaping up pretty nicely so far.

It seems to be recording on Mondays around 9 or 10. Check FX, or have your daughter check it for you. Its a very adult show. Pretty sure its Monday at 10pm.Robert J Sakimano wrote:what night/time is it on?

not a lot.. I have a hard time sitting still long enough to really watch a movie.. I'll watch a TV show here and there but there isn't a show that I've watched regularly in a long time.Other Teams Pursuing That wrote:Bob, do you watch any TV? Any shows? Movies?
