You don't understand preseason journalism do you? Much like baseball and spring training, everyone is in the best shape of their lives. They've all made positive changes that will improve them and the team going forward, etc, etc, etc. Wash, rinse, repeat. You don't fight or criticize the system, it is what it is and provides journalists much fodder to spill ink over. So unless you hate journalists please just go along and quit trying to punch holes, ok?

Some doom and gloom.

https://sports.yahoo.com/mark-dantonio-facing-steep-uphill-climb-writing-ending-michigan-state-025636447.html

Writer doesn't think Dantonio makes it to 2020 and does not think he will have the luxury of writing his own exit.

One point that I agree with, if the program wants to get back to the success we enjoyed I think we need to land Narduzzi as our next coach.

Yeah, that's why I'm doubtful we'll transition to Narduzzi.

Goose has made the argument that the Tigers should have parted ways with Leyland to pickup Francona when he was available.

I hold a similar view for Spartan football, I think the best move for long term success is to make a transition to Narduzzi happen, problem is I don't think the time line works out in our favor.

I'd take a flyer on that. I'll go on record here and say that Dantonio wants to "fix" this. Once he does, I'd bet he'll say, I"m good, lets get a good guy in here. Then, he'll be a great family man, which he already is.

I'm guessing 2018, when we win the big ten again. Maybe 19. I don't think he'll be here in 2020, but it will be his choice.

If he makes it to 19 I can easily see him wanting to stay 20 to get the bonus.

Same thing I thought, too. The only reason he's not here in 2020 is by his own choice. Right the ship and call it quits.

What are you Breitbart now? Taken in context.....

But yeah, I imagine saying he wants to "fix this" is pretty stupid. Of course he does. But I don't think Hoke ever wanted to fix it over there at the other place.

Didnt MSU twice beat undefeated OSU teams?  And in between OSU won the national championship?

"But yeah Dantonio won when the big ten was down and didnt face urban meyer".  What a stupid article.  I guess basic facts of what actually happened in recent years are irrelevant in todays sports journalism.

And 2020?  Lol.  75% of coaches will be gone so you could write this article about any of them.  Retiring would be the big story because almost no one does it.
