California
Largest GDP in the country
Largest population in the country
"California had a 3.29 percent growth rate last year, more than five times that of No. 3 Japan, almost twice No. 4 Germany, about half again as much as No. 5 U.K., almost three times No. 6 France and a third more than No. 1 U.S."
"California last year created the most jobs of any state, 483,000, more than the second- and third-most-populous states Florida and Texas combined (they added 257,900 and 175,700) and at a faster rate than any of the world's developed economies."
"The high taxes and ubiquitous regulation critics cite when assailing Golden State government are proving no impediment to business and investment. They may even be a benefit, as public policy and people's preferences converge. Four of the world's 10 largest companies are based in California"
Jerry Brown's speech the other week about staying the course with fighting global warming was spot on and has committed to staying the course on developing clean and alternative energy.
California is also preparing to fight Trumps immigration laws setting aside millions to battle his dumb ass laws in court. One of California's strengths is its diverse population and tolerance.
State rights are going to be turned upside down in Trump. My money is on California's leadership and strong economy to continue to make America Great.

It is really an inspiring speech and an answer to defeat Trumpism. California is going to keep on keeping on, and will attract the millennials and immigrants that don't want to live in Trump's America. Trump's supporters are already making maps without the state on it, they understand the threat and are in denial of that states influence over the country.
Californian legal scholars are figuring out ways to battle Trump's abuse of power in the courts. Trumpism won't be stopped in congress, but as Jerry Brown said they've got the scientist and they've got the lawyers. Trumpism won't win in the courts.

Will fight Trump's plan to deport immigrants.

The best and the brightest will flock to the progressive states.

Doubt Trump is going to build his dumb wall, but even if he tries California will stand in his way.
Also, they won't allow him to create a registry on their citizens.
“We’re not going to allow a wall that harms our environment and our economy,” Lara said in a statement. “We’re not going to allow personal data on individual Californians' religious beliefs to be used to compile an unconstitutional database.”

What is this the third grade?
You are missing the point, this is the biggest resistance to Trump and Trumpism in the world.
It's not only at the state level, their counties and cites are also taking a firm stance. Even the LAPD chief said they will not help deport immigrants.
The Dude claims the working class gave a proverbial finger to the coasts on Nov 9th, in response the state of California literally put its balls on the table.
They've paved the way for the rest of the progressive blue states to follow. I'm hoping my home state of New York will follow suit.
California, Oregon, Washington, New York, Minnesota and Vermont can pave the way. Without us the rest of the country is fucked, and it's just Trump the master of promoting himself and his dysfunctional family on his victory tour across red state America.
As Jerry Brown put it, "We've got the scientists, we've got the universities, we have the national labs...and we will persevere.". He even addressed in the speech I linked above that they won't live in Trump's 'fact free America'. This is all worth fighting for.
Rocinate, take some time and watch Jerry's speech and read the links I posted. Peace.
