It's not actually the "Official Seagal" thread, and yes, I'm just hassling you.

I really thought we might have one of those based on certain regular posters here.

TIL Before making it big in comedy, Phil Hartman designed a few album covers, including one for Steely Dan. Shocked

400 million years ago in the early Devonian period 83% of the world's land mass was in the southern hemisphere. Today it is 32%.

Where the phrase "Cup of Joe" might have originated....

A Cup o' Joe

Yet another such link to Daniels persists in Navy lore. The popular American slang for coffee—“a cup of Joe”—is held to be an apt and direct association to the abstemious gentleman who unwittingly had a hand in ushering in a new and even greater drinking obsession. Regardless of that story’s veracity, there can be no denying that while coffee had long been an integral aspect of life in commissioned ships, the banishment of alcohol made it an essential ritual. Coffee replaced the daily rum tot (or the mealtime wine) with numerous caffeine tots—all the day long.

TIL hippos sweat blood. Okay, it's not really blood, and it's sometimes red and sometimes more of a pinkish hue. It's also not sweat. Hippo blood sweat is really an oily secretion which acts as an antibiotic and antibacterial as well as a sunscreen and skin conditioner, because hippo skin is prone to cracking.

Oh man. The ladies loved that shit. It smells like vomit right out of the bottle too, so it doesn't have far to go when it inevitably comes back up.

TIL Fatty Arbuckle really was innocent. I'd never read anything about his three murder trials, but damn, that SF prosecutor should've been jailed for ignoring so much exculpatory evidence.

TIL I have until close COB Wednesday to quote a project directly to GM that, from the email trail, dates back to Sept of last year.

Going for a lineup in the morning to figure out what the project entails and ask why they need a number so quick after fucking the dog so long
