Wojo: Holland digs in for plan to dig Wings out

From one vantage point, the Red Wings look doomed. They don’t have stars in their prime or a stocked farm system, and they don’t have loads of salary-cap space. They also don’t have a proven history of rebuilding because, well, they haven’t done it in 25 years.

And Holland doesn't seem committed to rebuilding

Trevor Daley reportedly will sign with Wings for three years, $9 million. With Kronwall's knees, Wings needed some veteran stability there.

In addition to Trevor Daley, I'm told defenseman Luke Witkowski will sign with Detroit on a one-year deal at $750,000.

Red Wings have told Martin Frk to get a place in Detroit for month-to-month. Needs to find place that allows him to have his French bulldog.

Its not like they're endangered or alive... would they be pissed about pigs if we threw slices of ham on the ice?

Interesting factoid, Trevor Daley is the first black player on the wings since Nathan Robinson, he only suited up 5 games in 2003 while Daley is expected to be in the lineup most if not all year in the top pair with DeKeyser.

Entering the season I don't know if I can say the Wings are rebuilding but I can say they don't look like a contender... how fun. I hope we commit and tank and that Hollands seat is red hot.

Prediction... 30-42-10, last place, number 1 overall pick, Holland fired... probably Blashill too

Drafting Rasmus Dahlin

AA is off to the KHL because somehow Holland was able to f up his team's salary cap so badly that they have no cap space to sign him and very little talent to show for how much they are spending. I guess AA traveling 7 hours on a run down bus to games will build character.

This team is less talented than last years squad. They will be lucky to earn 70 points. The only thing standing between them and the 1st pick in the draft is the Colorado Avalanche.

And I hope the #1 pick can net them a superstar

Rasmus Dahlin is pegged as one of the best prospects in next years draft class, like a left handed Erik Karlsson, potentially a phenomenal all around superstar defenseman, I can get behind that, we just need to start tonight.
