NBA Offseason Thread

Post by Death Roe on 2017-06-28, 11:49

Chris Paul is opting into his LAC extension so he can be traded to the Rockets.

Details incoming, but it looks to be for Beverly, Dekker, Williams, and a 2018 draft pick.

I mean, the first thing with pea soup is the texture, okay?
I've had watery pea soup, it's AWFUL.
Uh, I've had gelatinous, thick pea soup, it's TERRIBLE.
Pea soup, much like clam chowder, needs to have that consistency first, that you can stand the spoon up in it, but the spoon soon tilts, that's the consistency you want.
Number two: Uh, pea soup on it's own can be a little bland. It wants, uh, a fairly aggressive peppering and salting.
Number three: Pea soup needs a fine dice of ham. Not bacon, not any other meat, not turkey. It needs a fine dice of ham.
Uh, number four: Uh, pea soup scorches easily. You don't wanna heat it on a high heat. You wanna heat it on medium low, just until it's warmed through.
Uh, number five: Pea soup is best made, uh, by hand, not out of a Campbell's can. And the key to pea soup, you want a ham bone, uh, for the stock you make, uh, to, to boil your peas.

First round pick. Not sure it's a great move for the rockets.

Are the Celtics on the Brink of a Superteam?

Isaiah Thomas’s dream season led Boston to the Eastern Conference finals, and now his sweetheart contract may very well produce a blockbuster summer that could take the franchise even further next year.

While Celtics president Danny Ainge has kept his fanbase waiting and waiting, he is now poised to enter the July free-agency period with a competitive advantage not shared by any of the league’s other contenders: a proven franchise-level performer who is compensated like a mid-level role player.

The NBA’s smallest star and his bargain contract will be Ainge’s biggest weapon as the Celtics pursue a possible trade for Paul George and top free agents like Gordon Hayward and Blake Griffin. In a best-case version of events, like the one outlined by Yahoo Sports on Tuesday, the Celtics could assemble a “Big 4” core of All-Stars that features holdovers in Thomas and Al Horford plus newcomers Hayward and George.

Seems steep, maybe not. He's never impressed me.

Seems like a desperation move to try and get Heyward to stay

Here's an exceedingly brief article about it.

Very intriguing move. At this point I do not see Heyward landing in Boston

The NBA should go to a 16 team playoff bracket instead of 2 brackets of 8.

Warriors
Cavs
Spurs
Thunder
Rockets
Celtics
Twolves
Some fodder team like the raptors

That creates a much more intriguing 2nd round and beyond than watching great games in the west and a month of cavs and Celtics blowouts in the east.

Hayward to Boston. On his way there, he fouled Draymond Green.

I swore I saw a tweet from him a couple of hours ago that he was staying in Utah? (I wondered why he would do that)
