the mainstream media is already calling Elizabeth Warren "unlikeable"... The 2020 Presidential campaign. - Page 2 502811600

those darn women.. just so unlikeable.

How does Warren avoid a Clinton redux — written off as too unlikable before her campaign gets off the ground?

I think it's nice how Trump talked about Elizabeth Warren's psychiatrist yesterday.

That guy is so unhinged. The 2020 Presidential campaign. - Page 2 502811600

He does know how to use the media to feed his constituents, though. That's the sad part. Who knows if she even has one, but the seed has been planted that she's unstable.

I mean, I’m going to listen to all the candidates before I make a decision. But as long as all of us democrats understand we’ll need to overcome a 30% base for trump, maybe more and at least 15-20 % either not voting if she’s the nominee or voting for Trump because they don’t want an old establishment candidate and being a woman is even more of a turn off for them.

We can sit here and argue how stupid Americans are or misogynistic they are, but in 2019 I’m pretty confident we’ll get Trump re-elected if she’s our nominee. Don’t get pissed at the messenger get pissed at the electorate. Oh, and I’m guessing there are a shit ton of people working for her who know that exact thing.

I just want to get rid of this pos in office first. 2024 we’ll have a good election. I believe it’s our duty to get this monster out of our lives. Call me a bad American.

Someone has to be his foil. Directly confront him on his level. Flat out call him a racist, pervert, traitor. She seems to have the temperament. Obviously it would stop her from getting the nomination but it would allow others to build a strong candidacy while he's flailing at her. I think that's where the GOP failed in stoping his train run. Nobody got dirty with him.

I agree with both of y'all - the media will attempt to smear her - they already are... and DWags is right in that great Americans who value traditional American ideals will have to overcome the racist, bigoted misogynistic vote..

more than anything, though, we need people to be engaged and not allow pop culture, the media and Facebook, Twitter and Instagram influence the electorate. I know this is asking a lot with our current demographic of voter. I do hope that the younger generation will know not to believe everything they read online..

the midterms gave me a shred of hope - but voting should not be a one time thing and the 18-25 demographic should know that they can control their future.. while not allowing a bunch of old folks who get their "news" from Good Morning America or their relatives on Facebook to do so.

No. Biden is that guy. Warren has a lot of appeal obstacles to overcome, but she's got some great ideas and we need to stop with the "can she win" bullshit and just support who we believe in. Trump will not be president in 2020. regardless of the outcome of the election. That mother fucker is going down.

I disagree. The test means she doesn't have to talk about it anymore and if Trump keeps it up she can either let him bloviate and eventually dig himself into a racist hole (probably the strategy) or she can say "he owes me a million bucks," as he said (in a typically Trumpian misogynistic way) "I will give you a million dollars to your favorite charity, paid for by Trump, if you take the test and it shows you're an Indian."

I agree that Biden can be that guy but I don't see him as a viable candidate.  Sure he can get dirty with Trump, but what is the gain?  Trumps gonna get the majority of the old white guy vote.  Insulting Biden gains nothing.  Now if Trump goes after a woman, her heritage, marginalizes that she's a woman, etc, there is a demographic to alienate.  The woman vote and the minority vote.  Can you imagine the shit storm he could insult his way into by demonizing a race and a gender?  He's already said she doesn't "look" Indian.  Really Don?  What does an Indian "look" like?  What does an "African" look like, Don?  There are white Africans Don.  See my nephew Don?  White, right?  Well no Don, he's 25% black Don.  Does he "look" black Don?  No he doesn't Don.  Make this fucker dig his own racist hole.  He'll step right in it.

Couldn't agree more. This shit should be about policy and from what I've read policy is one of Warren's strengths.

This whole 'that candidate would be great to get a beer with' nonsense needs to stop. These are not cool people and they never will be.T We just need qualified brains that can make laws and decisions that guide the country.

I don't think that'll work. The support he has is iron clad. You need to sway that 10-15 percent with polices that will directly impact their lives. End of the day it's economics with a eye toward drawing down military missions unless absolutely necessary. I don't think the racist stuff plays well with that 10 to 15. I'd avoid it.

That's fair. I'm not sure that 10 to 15 percent of Moderate voters are. I think they said screw it. Now i'm willing to admit that if he wins again with the same numbers, then yeah we got a larger racism problem than I thought.

Byron York: Why are Republicans trouncing Democrats in fundraising?+

The Republican president has a job approval rating around 40 percent. The GOP has an unfavorability rating around 56 percent. And Republicans trail Democrats by nine points in an average of "generic ballot" polls.

All of which makes it notable that the Republican National Committee is trouncing the Democratic National Committee when it comes to raising money, especially from small donors.

The numbers are striking. In June, the RNC raised $13.5 million to the DNC's $5.5 million.

For 2017 so far, the RNC has raised $75.4 million to the DNC's $38.2 million.

The RNC started the year with $25.3 million in cash on hand. Now it has $44.7 million. The DNC started the year with $10.5 in cash on hand. Now, that has fallen to $7.5 million.

As of June 30, the RNC reported $0 in debt. The DNC reported $3.3 million in debt.

A look inside the numbers is even worse for the DNC. Looking at collections from small donors — that is, those who contributed less than $200 — the RNC raised $10.5 million in the months of May and June. The DNC raised $5.3 million from small donors in the same time period.

The RNC's money total is a record — more than was raised in any previous non-presidential election year. That is true for June, and for all of 2017 as well. The $75.4 million raised this year compares to $55.4 million for the same period in 2015; to $51.2 for the same period in 2014; to $41.1 million for the same period in 2013, and so on going back.

So how did that fund raising advantage work out in formerly GOP house districts?

Democrats must always produce a perfect candidate. Republicans? Not so much.

Shoot, the next Republican presidential nominee after Trump will be Rob Kardashian.

I'm sure the RNC has moles on Bob. I'm not worried.

So I was looking at Trump's approval ratings and they've actually gone up two points in the last two weeks; 39.5% on 1/31 vs 41.5% today.

How un/popular is Donald Trump?

What the hell has he done in that span?

EDIT: I got it, he ended the shutdown.
