Bob's House on 9/2

Post by Turtleneck on 2017-07-14, 15:06

Hi all,

Bob has once again generously offered his property for an after game party. This year's party will follow MSU's season opening clash with Bowling Green on September 2nd. As most of you know, Bob's Cotton Bowl Watch Party - the good Cotton Bowl against Baylor and not the bad one against Alabama - is widely regarded as the best party in recorded history. Last year's season opening party was good, but took a hit after The Hold Steady's last minute cancelation. While GreenWay was able to secure Wilson Phillips on short notice, it was not the same.

The Co9 has decided not to have this year's event catered. Everybody will be assigned something. So far the list reads as follows:

WBH: some sort of delicious dead animal carcass
Loose: pies
Pantry: raw milk
GreenWay: Faygo
Goodbar: jenkem
Travis: Pylon

The rest of you will just have to figure something out.

On behalf of the Co9, we look forward to seeing you all there,

Turtleneck

•Hey WBH, I don't mind if the dead carcass you bring isn't animal. You'll just have to act faster than your local whitetail. And no, I'm not talking about Dendro.

•goodbar, don't be bringing us any of that shitty west side jenkem. We want the good stuff from the east side.

Did Bob ever get the hole in his floor fixed from the last party?

Uh, I've had gelatinous, thick pea soup, it's TERRIBLE.
Pea soup, much like clam chowder, needs to have that consistency first, that you can stand the spoon up in it, but the spoon soon tilts, that's the consistency you want.
Number two: Uh, pea soup on it's own can be a little bland. It wants, uh, a fairly aggressive peppering and salting.
Number three: Pea soup needs a fine dice of ham. Not bacon, not any other meat, not turkey. It needs a fine dice of ham.
Uh, number four: Uh, pea soup scorches easily. You don't wanna heat it on a high heat. You wanna heat it on medium low, just until it's warmed through.
Uh, number five: Pea soup is best made, uh, by hand, not out of a Campbell's can. And the key to pea soup, you want a ham bone, uh, for the stock you make, uh, to, to boil your peas.

Yeah, sorry about that. Last year's party hit a slow point and I thought we could liven things up with a glory hole.

This invitation would mean something if Turtleneck hadn't been ousted from the Co9 when he went AWOL. But he was, and he did, and so he doesn't speak for the Co9 and can't announce events in the name of the Co9.
That said, it is going down exactly as he said, and obviously we have a leak problem in the Co9. Some holdout loyal to Turtleneck. Although any sorry sap that hitches his wagon to that dumpster fire is headed for ouster himself. We are investigating.

What's the application process like for taking his spot?

I'd like to remind everyone that I'll be offering parking again this year, with tSwill discount of only $15 per vehicle. I'll take a hit, but you guys are worth it.

I overbought this year, and already signed an ICP tribute band from Ishpeming. We're golden.

Great, GreenWay is going to screw up the band again.

We might have to put Travis in charge of the music. That is how terrible of a job GreenWay is doing.
