Justin Verlander is a long shot to get traded this month, but a contender should go get him. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2726307 … via @BleacherReport

Sources: #Tigers’ Kinsler on revocable trade waivers. Owed just over $3M for rest of season, plus $10M club option or $5M buyout for 2018.

#Brewers remain interested in Kinsler, but on his 10-team no-trade list, sources say. Villar .605 OPS; Sogard 2-for-33 since coming off DL.

I don't pay attention to MLB trade rules. Can someone explain what was the point of that deadline from a couple of weeks ago if teams can still make trades? Does it have to do with postseason eligibility?

I think the deadline for post season eligibility is August 31. Trades after the deadline have to somehow be put on waivers then cleared first.

It's too complicated to think about. Tigers suck. I'll be there Friday.

Waiver rules are in effect. Don't ask me to explain them but basically teams can block by putting in waiver claims

Where there's smoke......2 more Verlander trade stories....this time including Seattle.

CBA could aid potential Verlander trade Sources: Rules would allow right-hander to add opt-out clause

THIEL: MARINERS NEED TO GO FOR TIGERS’ VERLANDER Somehow, the Mariners at the moment are a wild-card team. But if won’t last if they burn out the bullpen with five-inning starters. So, John Stanton, go get Justin Verlander.

With uncertainty/concern over Pedroia's knee, it'll be interesting to see if the Red Sox placed the claim on Ian Kinsler. DD knows him well.
