I don't pay attention to MLB trade rules. Can someone explain what was the point of that deadline from a couple of weeks ago if teams can still make trades? Does it have to do with postseason eligibility?

I think the deadline for post season eligibility is August 31. Trades after the deadline have to somehow be put on waivers then cleared first.

It's too complicated to think about. Tigers suck. I'll be there Friday.

Waiver rules are in effect. Don't ask me to explain them but basically teams can block by putting in waiver claims
