Had no idea that place was still in business. Pretty sure they use to firehose it after closing each morning to get rid of the beer/vomit stench and all the busted glass.

it was closed down for a while. Rumor was that it was gone for good. Then it was sort of gentrified by (I believe) that Gillespie prick and has changed accordingly.

Would've done better just to close the place down and allow the decades of memories a respectful death.

*edit - did a quick search, it wasn't the Gillespie prick that bought it (though that guy is a world class cock sleeve) - it was some dude named Chuck Mannino. But, yeah, still gentrified the place, from what I've heard. I haven't been since it reopened, but our daughter's boyfriend's band has played a few shows there and the kid wasn't impressed.

What band, I know a pile of dudes that play in a lot of bands that still gig at said Green Door...Some suck, most do not.

Duffy might be the one who could speak with some authority on Chuck Mannino. I’ve only met him once. He lived in our neighborhood until a few years ago. Turned a not very nice place into an attractive bungalow on Westlawn. I guess he did all the work himself, inside and out.

I rail on Gillespie anytime I can, though. Even when he doesn't have anything to do with the issue at hand.
