However, it was not one of their beat writers that wrote the article, nor made it seem like they themselves submitted the FOIA. Their beat writers protect the program. Also can you please send me a screen shot of the Freep home page with multiple headline stories about the minor self-reported violations when that article was published?
This was not even a story, let alone a headline story, let along one that a beat writer needed to report on, let alone one worthy of TWO headline stories. And despite denying the freep a credential or whatever to travel with them to cover the story, the Houston story is by far more newsworthy.
Again, I'm not upset about it. I think it's funny. I understand it, and it's not as overt as some Ms. B Green types want to make it be. But it's there, and to deny it or try to rationalize it is silly. I get why you out of towners do it but...it's a thing. It's a real thing.
Do you get the paper delivered to your house?
Yeah, do ya??

Can you tell me about what was in the AJC today?
What's your favorite color?
What was in the AJC? No idea.
Maybe some GT fans whining about all the coverage that UGA gets.
I'm guessing you don't get the paper delivered to your house, because most people don't any more. So, you have total control over how you get your news. You don't have to rely on the paper being out there in the morning (to get your news).
If you want MSU news (without UM news), then go to places on the internet where you can get that...and don't visit the freep if it upsets you that much (or if you just find it funny). It is literally that simple.
If your contention is (as seems to be the case with some people) that Solari is running a smear campaign against MSU, then don't read his articles. He reported some "news". Whether you think it was worthy of being reported in the manner it was, or how you can compare it to how similar UM news was reported is kind of silly (in my opinion). Who cares? It impacts nothing. Recruits don't read the paper (literally, or on the internet). We lose recruits to UM for much bigger reasons than Detroit media boogeymen.

Well, which area of the website was this posted on? The bottom left or bottom right? This. Shit. Matters.

I saw that argument from Solari yesterday and it makes no sense. Since when do journalists need an invitation to show up and cover a story?
Seems like it's getting to be pretty common with Detroit newspapers. One of their reporters was whining about not getting press credentials the other day for the Kid Rock conert. Newsflash, go buy a ticket and go cover the concert, not everyone deserves a freebie.

I think he literally wanted to go with them, and MSU said no. Could he have gone to Houston on his own? Sure, but I'm guessing it would probably be hard to drive around Houston and find them to do a story.

I wouldn't want a reporter all over my nuts and asking me cliche questions the entire time either.
