The mid-engine Corvette

Post by The Pantry on 2017-10-12, 19:47

My kid texted these pics yesterday.  Said a GM friend sent them to him.  First pics not on the proving grounds.  They showed up on Jalopnik later.

The rear tire width hints it might be AWD. Would make perfect sense.

Why do they have a raincoat on it? It should be able to resist rain easily.

I mean, the first thing with pea soup is the texture, okay?
I've had watery pea soup, it's AWFUL.
Uh, I've had gelatinous, thick pea soup, it's TERRIBLE.
Pea soup, much like clam chowder, needs to have that consistency first, that you can stand the spoon up in it, but the spoon soon tilts, that's the consistency you want.
Number two: Uh, pea soup on it's own can be a little bland. It wants, uh, a fairly aggressive peppering and salting.
Number three: Pea soup needs a fine dice of ham. Not bacon, not any other meat, not turkey. It needs a fine dice of ham.
Uh, number four: Uh, pea soup scorches easily. You don't wanna heat it on a high heat. You wanna heat it on medium low, just until it's warmed through.
Uh, number five: Pea soup is best made, uh, by hand, not out of a Campbell's can. And the key to pea soup, you want a ham bone, uh, for the stock you make, uh, to, to boil your peas.

Can hardly wait for comparison road tests with the new Ford GT. No horse in the race but I'm betting on the Chevy.

Yes. I don't think I've ever seen one of those on the road. Maybe I don't live in the right place? [shrug]

If I'm going to spend a half-mil on a car, it sure as hell won't be a Ford, no matter how cool it looks.

Sorry, Turtleneck.

Just the cheap ones.

Posted this vid before. My oldest son driving an Aventador in Italy a few years back. Watch full screen. Pay attention to the speedo upper right inside the steering wheel.

Yeah that's pretty awesome. I would've loved to drive one of those at his age. Hell I'd love to drive that right now!

Frankly, I'd have been shitting my pants if I was the Lamborghini guy in the passenger seat. My kid was 19 and only had his driver's license about 6 months at the time.

Cost him about $200US to beat that thing. Well worth it.
