Just at Toledo -
McCann can't hit, Greiner is 26.
IF - Lugo 24, Eaves 25, Espinal 25
OF Castro & Stewart 25, Gerber 26
If they aren't ready now then they're not part of the rebuild. Let's find out or clear the dead wood out.
Stewart and Lugo are about the only 2 with a realistic mlb shot.

Probably. Eaves is on the DL but I've heard some good about him. Greiner seems to project as a #2/3 catcher.

Re: 2018 Tigers Thread...
There is soooooo much playing time between now and September. Totally fine with hoping we can establish some trade value for these guys for a few months. This isn’t a 1 year rebuild we’re talking about. There will be plenty of time for everybody to practice and prove themselvesLooseGoose wrote:Travis of the Cosmos wrote:
You know that they still have to pay those contracts if they do that yeah?
Anyway, it’s a long ass season. Plenty of time for everybody. I think the plan would be that if any of those people get hot enough and a team gets desperate enough then the goal would be to trade them for literally anything. They can’t look put lipstick on that pig if you don’t.... shit I dunno give the pig a mirror? Is that a good relatable farm metaphor? Anyway if you don’t play them you can’t trade them. That’s the whole idea.
Completely aware that all baseball contracts are guaranteed, like the NBA.
Still would cut them to open up the playing time and start making decisions on the younger guys. No one is going to give you even a bag of balls for any of them.
Prepare to trade Iglesias, AWilson, and anyone else over 26 that you can move for value.

In general you're right. I'm just anxious to see the kids.

Tiger's prospect started his 1st game tonight....got rocked for all the hits/runs in the 1st.
#Tigers Alex Faedo’s final line- 5IP 2ER 2H 0BB 4K 2HR. Settled in nicely after a rough first frame. He’s definitely a gamer. Love the mound presence. CH looked better than I anticipated. SL still flashes filthy, dirty, nasty #BigFacts

Detroit Tigers' unexpected start to season is a pleasant surprise
Guest- Guest
Re: 2018 Tigers Thread...
III
The Detroit Tigers have to have the worst schedule in major league history. How could it be any worse than every one of the first 25 games on the schedule being played (or having a projected temperature) in weather never warmer than 48 degrees, with the majority of the games at 40 degrees or lower?
That, of course, is accounting for the weather in Detroit’s eight games so far—never warmer than 43 degrees—and the long-range forecast for the next week, with seven games in Cleveland and Detroit, and the temperature in those seven games predicted to be 36, 35, 45, 46, 47, 48 and 46.
MLB scheduled Detroit’s first seven series, covering 25 games, for Detroit, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, Detroit, Detroit and Pittsburgh.
Will the next three series (in Baltimore, Detroit, Kansas City) be better weather-wise? Let us pray. But it’s incredible that Major League Baseball scheduled every one of the first 35 games of the season for the Tigers in places where weather can be awful through early May.

Watching tonight for the first time in 2018. Pleasantly surprised by the d so far. Last year no way our BP shuts down a team like Cleveland like they just did in the 7th inning. Hopefully the bats can get at Kluber here in the late innings.

Re: 2018 Tigers Thread...
This is ridiculous weather to be playing baseball. Cleveland is close to the Tigers on the schedule, this is their longest home stand of the season, a quick trip to Puerto Rico, and back for their second longest home stand, all in April.LooseGoose wrote:III

Both probably play a lot of games in Texas in July.
