Why?

MSU will be good

Um was never good

Psu was a fraud. I mean, I guess we’ll find out against Miami, but I think they were a fraud. Their only win was against the team that was never good. Remains to be seen. But they definitely beat no one worthwhile.

Osu loses some shit.

I think your boy rittenberg is operating off of the ole “osu and um and maybe psu are always great regardless and if someone else is then zomg the division is so good” formula.

Utah State - W, 1-0
@ Arizona State - W, 2-0
@ Indiana - W, 3-0
CMU - W, 4-0
Northwestern - Revenge W, 5-0
@ Penn State - W, 6-0 - I think they'll fall hard once Barkley is gone.
Michigan - W, 7-0
Purdue - W, 8-0 - this'll be a super close game
@ Maryland - W, 9-0 - first 9-0 team since the 60s?
Ohio State - I gotta go L, 9-1 - not seeing it at the moment, gotta be real
@ Nebraska - W, 10-1 - this could be a real trap game now that Frost is there. Remember 2015??
Buttgers - W, 11-1 - are we East champs?? Can't imagine OSU losing more than 1 game.
B1G Title Game - MSU vs. Wisconsin - W, 12-1, 3 seed in the playoff

Utah State is no slouch - our 1st 2 games will likely be harder than our next 2.

Is this thread just for MSU? The title says 18/19 FB thread, but is not specific to MSU. Is this were we talk about next season's Mount Pleasant Sacred Heart team? I really want to the talk about the 18/19 MPSH team.

Big Ten football power rankings: An extra-early look at 2018

This time of year in the Midwest, we’re usually shoveling both snow and excuses after an odious bowl performance by the Big Ten. "Did you know they only served grits to the northerners before kickoff?"

No excuses, valid or otherwise, are needed this season after the Big Ten went 7-1 in bowl games. Only Michigan, which blew a 19-3 lead to South Carolina, dropped the baton.

“Our players played hard,” Big Ten Commissioner Jim Delany said via text, “and (I’m) very proud of our coaches for preparing them so well.”

Does it portend a strong performance in 2018? Probably not. But it feels a lot better than the 3-7 bowl record the conference produced last season. And the 0-5 mark on New Year’s Day 2011.

Let’s look ahead to next season with our extra-early Big Ten power rankings

Because SI has gone downhill? Because the rankings were done by a woman*? Could be any number of bullshit reasons.

In this preview Dodd has us 5th, right behind tOSU:

College Football Power Rankings: The way-too-early top 25 teams ahead of 2018

5 team logo MICHIGAN ST.
Sparty is absolutely loaded with 21 returning starters. Brian Lewerke is a dual-threat weapon and should have four returning offensive line starters to protect him. The defense that allowed only 20 points per game returns mostly intact.
