Right. Weren’t we talking about that a couple months ago? Feel seriously bad for the guy, but he’ll be a Spartan legend forever.

If he retires because of injury, I don't think he loses the scholarship.

Tidbit for Nordy and others from Couch in his chat today:

QB is the one spot that could get dicey if something were to happen to Lewerke. Dantonio loves Rocky Lombardi. I haven't heard him talk about a young QB like this since I've been around. But when the only other scholarship QB on the roster is a true freshman that you're hoping to redshirt, Theo Day, that's a little scary.

We just took a committment from DT Deshaun Mallory. Needed to make academic progress and I guess he did. Has wanted to be a Spartan badly.

A story on the Offense:
Pressure on Michigan State offense to score more points

And on the defense:
Mike Tressel now runs Michigan State's defense but the mindset is unchanged

It starts to occur to me that Mr. Tressel might be the heir apparent....

Do these heir apparent things ever work out? I suppose with Gene Stallings it did but I'm hard pressed to think of an example in the last 20 years where a program succeeded after being handed over to a longtime assistant.
