Yup, and it would really be off-putting if hell actually existed.
I suspect 'ol Billy is getting a taste of his own hate-based medicine about now.

Welp, this thread seems to have a life. RIP Billy, best wishes to the family. That's all I got.

Two questions:

1) Do you believe in hell?

2) Do you believe homosexuals go to hell?

Yes or one of my favorite Black Sabbath eras was all a farce not to mention the lack of Hell makes Cooper a liar.

Yes, along with everyone else.

I'm sure his friends and family miss him .

(full disclosure - I edited this post after saying some not-so-nice things about him. I didn't care for him. I'll just leave it at that).

Cool. I guess I shouldn't be surprised to see you defending Billy Graham's homophobia.

I think I get it, and I don't think I'm expressing myself that well because I'm prety focused on not mentioning Trump right now (oops, shit).

But if he was exactly the same guy but somehow pro-choice, you'd be singing a very different tune right now. For lots of people, homophobia is just as big of a deal breaker. I assume you know that, yes?

Not at all, I have people that I love deeply and respect that are pro-abortion. I think they're wrong, that doesn't mean I dislike or disrespect everything about them.

Maybe it's because I've known some very flawed men that did a lot of good too. Life is never as simple as we sometimes try to make it, there are always shades of gray some darker than others.

This shouldn’t be an abortion thread but nothing about the GOP is against abortion. It’s just a fact. They don’t actually want to stop it because it’s a carrot to follow and vote. You take that issue away and 90% of the country will not vote for them. They get power and they do nothing at all except for tax cuts for rich people, which is the only thing they truly care about. With maybe a little racism mixed in here or there.

In reality democrats are the only ones who promote policies that try to limit abortion. Those policies that get people health care and promote sexual education. The GOP doesn’t actually want to limit it. They want more. The more they can get scary stats up for blind single issue voters the more they can drive them to the polls against it. It’s honestly so insanely obvious that they don’t give a fuck that I’m surprised it takes a liberal to point that out to a conservative. They should have figured this out on their own a decade ago.

Now that I ruined things let me know when y’all want me to move it. Sorry :(

Travis it's all that way. Substitute Gun control or immigration for abortion and you have the Dems. They don't want to "solve" them, then they can't run on them. As I've typed over and over in 2009 and part of 2010 the Dems had the House, a filibuster proof Senate and the White House. They could have passed ANY law they wanted - and passed Obamacare but did nothing on Immigration or gun control.

And just FYI so you don't say that's a common occurrence.....the R's have NEVER had that combination.

If you watched Big Time Wrestling in the 60s/70s you understand all this. Every new good guy that came to town was going to clean wrestling up by getting rid of the bad guys like the Sheik, Baron von Raschke, Dick the Bruiser, etc. The fans rooted wildly for them, the promoters made $$, everyone was happy. BUT....if they had ever succeeded, then what? Who the hell wants to watch 2 good guys wrestle cleanly for an hour?

These political parties know if they solve "their" issues they lose their voters.

Maybe. Honestly we’ll see about gun control. When we regain everything, which is gonna happen eventually, then I’ll tell you if you were right. In 2010, the last time that democrats had full control of everything, they were focused on healthcare, which I also think is a totally worthy goal. I’d love to see them do both. But you’re right, there’s some gamesmanship.

The question though is, when it’s specific to republicans and abortion- if you’re aware that one side doesn’t give a shit and just pays lip service to get votes and the other side has policies that while they don’t end it, actually do things to limit it (but again, not end it) why do you keep chasing the impossible dream?

Now is when you say “well republicans have policies to limit mass shootings.” But the thing is I don’t think they do. Their policies don’t make any sense and are just trying to sell guns. The results would be the same if not worse. You can’t look me in the eye and say that making sure that everyone that wants birth control gets it won’t limit abortions. Again, not end, but limit. They tell you that there are people that use abortion as birth control, but that’s a lie. Or at least, a one out of a million. I’ve known people that have gotten them and I know how agonizing of a decision it was, one that they wish they didn’t have to make in the first place.

Like I said man. Your best hope is with democrats who are trying to actually limit it to the point that maybe it wouldn’t be necessary anymore. Your dream of ever making it illegal overnight, despite the ramifications, is super dead. It’s not gonna happen

Cool, then support politicians who want to try to limit it instead of those that say “I’ll make it illegal through whatever the fuck” even though you know it’s a lie and they just want to give more money to corporations

Cool, then support politicians who want to try to limit it instead of those that say “I’ll make it illegal through whatever the fuck” even though you know it’s a lie and they just want to give more money to corporations

Travis, Travis, Travis, you bright eyed idealistputting your faith in a bunch of politicians to do the right thing will only lead to disappointment, regardless of party.

I don’t think you do. Man, I don’t get it. If your goal is to limit abortion, knowing it won’t ever be truly illegal, then make sure people don’t get pregnant in the first place if they don’t want to. It seems like it’s a no brainer unless you think the unrealistic Christian strategy of “just ignore your biological urge to fuck” is a solid plan.

Goose. Just get every single person birth control that wants it. No matter what form they want it in. It’s free. It’s theirs. Limit unwanted pregnancies and you limit abortions. It’s simple.

And yet you fight for them day in day out watching Fox News still. Don’t give me that shit until you actually stop doing what you do.

Sorry :(
it's well documented - Republicans aren't "pro-life". They're pro-white people who believe the same twisted agenda as them.

Otherwise they wouldn't celebrate the death of others with such a fervent passion.

But you knew that already.

FYI: Billy Graham is still dead.

And he's wondering why they don't turn on the AC.
