Meh. Not exactly. The debt angle is sorta over blown. First of all they aren’t the biggest owners of US debt. We are. We owe it to ourselves more than what we owe to them. And what happens if we dont pay them? Even if the idea that they own a substantial amount of US debt is true, what happens if we say “lol fuck off.” From their perspective? Think of a bank whose entire business is based of off the sustainability of a single borrower. They’d be fucked.

This sort of bleeds into trumps misunderstanding of the difference between a trade deficit and a deficit. Like, I’m pretty sure this dude thinks that the reason that we have a national debt is because we have a trade deficit. But he’s kind of a total dipshit so

Republicans only concern themselves with the debt and deficit when they are out of power. Until then, they’ll spend like kids in a candy store.
