The Pacific (Documentary)
Hanks and Spielbergs Pacific theater version of band of Brothers. BofB was a 10 in my book. So far through 5 episodes I'd give it a 7 but still a great watch. Maybe if I'd seen The Pacific first, is like it better than BofB. Anybody else watched it?

Are you ever going to publish your book? I’d like to be able to recommend something to OTPT.

Snafu is played brilliantly by Rami Malek.

It's not better than band of brothers but still really good.

Re: The Pacific (Documentary)
Of course Band Of Brothers is better. It was based on a single book about a single company. Most of the main characters were alive when the book was written and when the series was made. So that all allows for a lot of cohesion in the overall stories, as well as the individual stories.
The Pacific is based primarily on three different books, all about different people who never met. The three main characters, one from each book (two of the books were autobiographical), had all passed away before the series was made. So they had a lot less source material and a not a single linked story to follow. But in a way, the Pacific war itself was kind of like that. So many different little island battles, not always as direct and straight forward as Europe, etc.
The Pacific is still damn good and I've watched it probably 3-4 times, but not on the level of Band Of Brothers, which is one of my favorite pieces of TV/Movies ever.
Couple of fun facts (non-spoilers)...
The guy that plays Eugene Sledge was the boy from the original Jurassic Park.
Sledge's friend from home, Sid (and Sid's sister) were heavily interviewed in PBS's series The War a few years back.
