I believe the majority of the country wants medicare for all however the people that are actually turning out and voting want something else.

By and large, that "something else" seems to be "the candidate the establishment tells me is most electable."

Well I have a news flash Biden isn't going to add medicare for all. Bernie and Liz had it on their platforms and they lost. These people can always vote for Jill Stein, she might have a good healthcare plan.

Obviously just stopping or defeating Trump isn't enough for them. They won't turn out to vote but they'll have a tantrum if they don't get their way.

I don’t know why, with Bernie getting fewer votes in the primary, that you’re just assuming that a Bernie 2016>Trump 2016 = Bernie 2020 voter is the same person. I would think that a lot of them were anti Hillary 2016 > Trump voters that are not current Bernie supporters nor are they progressives at all.

Edit- “with Bernie getting fewer votes” in the primary this time than last.

I do agree with this for the most part. I know you hate polls so I'll leave that one out. I have seen a lot of anecdotal evidence of close friends I know that refuse to vote for Biden and there's people like Krystal Ball stuck in 2016.

I don’t hate polls. I don’t like making broad sweeping assumptions based off of exit polls when you could just wait for the actual data.

Biden and the moderate Democrats need to make a case to get many progressives to come out and vote. That's how democracy works. I don't want to see people voter shaming already, that's not going to motivate people.

I find it interesting that many Trumpees are down playing the raw numbers of this thing. All the while their savior declares a national emergency, mobilizes corporate America, demands their cooperation, and gets interest rates lowered.

Pretty much makes it impossible to bitch when a democrat declares a national emergency over the current state of healthcare coverage in this country.

Yep, I watched it too. Biden won it easily and after tomorrow it's time for the Sanders camp to shut it down. As far as never Biden folks just remember there's always Jill Stein. Feel free to vote for her if you must. Who knows maybe you'll have Tulsi on the ticket.

Trump dis-information campaign has already begun. The right wing bubble has started to blame Obama era CDC officials claiming the monies Trump signed off on when they cut funding to The Office for Emergency Preparedness had nothing to do with the CDC's sloth like response 6 weeks ago and since.

He's already gas lighting his base by tweeting out Governor Whitmer isn't doing enough while he (Trump) stand by MI.

Saw in the NYT that Biden won more voters in Florida that describe their selves as very far left than Bernie. He also dominated with the hispanic/Puerto Rican voters.

The writing's on the wall, but it's been there for awhile. At this point, I'm assuming Bernie stays in it until Joe gets to 1,991. If Joe can't get there, I expect Bernie will take it to the convention, but I think Joe will get there easily.

Seems like he's just trying to move the Overton window. It badly needs to happen, corporatist democrats are basically conservatives.

Here’s a secret for you most of the country is pretty conservative or dead center. Considering the margin of victories Bernie can hang around if he wants and keep rubbing but if I’m Biden I turn towards the general election and start working towards that.

“Eighty percent of Sanders backers say they’ll vote for Biden against Trump; as noted, 15% say they’d back Trump. (This is familiar: Twenty percent of Sanders supporters said they’d vote for Trump in spring 2016.) For context, 15% of Sanders supporters is 6% of all leaned Democrats, and Trump won 8% of Democrats in 2016. Still, Biden wants all the in-party support he can muster.“

I’m concerned once Ralph Nader or Jill Steing gets their campaigns going we will see 10% throw their support to them.

Article got me thinking what the fuck is Sanders doing in the race? The time for a graceful exit was weeks ago. He got his ass handed to him the last three Tuesdays and he will get his ass handed to him in New York. There’s nothing left to accomplish other than uniting the party at this point. Pack up your shit, pick one of your three homes and go away.
