LOL

I'd totally shoot a feral pig. One of our hunting party got a coyote on Nov. 15.

I'm disappointed. I thought by now someone would mention how much she looks like Erin Andrews.

Is open feral hog hunting legal in MI yet? In some places here in VA you can blast em if you see em, and in Texas you can rent a chopper and a full auto machine guy to lay waste to those swine.

Not sure I updated this thread, but my lost doe was found a week and a day later, about 70 yds from where we last looked, right off one of our main trails. She was all intact. Two week later she was bones.

However, in two weeks, including you and I, I knew of 6 guys that shot and lost deer, including two more of my hunting partners, one a monster buck and the other a doe.

During gun I got my second doe. Shot her at 25 yds, she did the mule kick. WHen I went to where I shot her, no blood. Not a drop. There was some fur. After some cursory tracking (following her hoof marks in the leaves) we pulled out.

Next morning I hunted the same area. After hunting I started doing some searching. Found her 70 yds from where I shot her. There was blood all over where she crashed, not a drop before. It was cold that night so she her meat was saved. It felt good.

Good shot too. Double lung, and also the artery at the top of the heart. 12 gauge Hornady SST split apart. Her right lung had two holes in it (bottom one then went through the artery at top of heart). Second lung was also hit.

These are tough animals.

Yes, if you see a feral pig and you have a hunting license, DNR is asking you to take it out. Much like coyote.

So they warned no deer hunters to shoot it, but then killed it themselves. The DNR are hypocritical morons.

If they were going to just kill the Elk, why the fuck didn't they allow a properly licensed deer hunter to harvest it.  There had to have been a better solution than this.  Fucking retarded...

I went out last night for the last night of muzzle loader.  Had a button buck come to the bait right near the end of shooting light.  I tried to scare him off with my grunt call about a dozen times but he'd just look up at me for a couple seconds and go right back to raiding my beets.  So I decided to "unload" my ML'er, since it was the last night of the season, on a safe target and I'm pretty sure he broke the sound barrier skedaddlin the F out of there after I set that fucker off.  LMFAO....  Sorry lil fella, I didn't want you to know that was a person sitting there.  See you next year maybe homie....

Going back out with the bow in a few days.  Still looking to stack another doe in the freezer.

Buttons are so dumb. I have had them come to my tree. I've made noise and they don't spook. You can also hear them coming from a mile away. When a deer is making too much noise I always know its a button buck. Yearling does aren't even close to that dumb.

Any of you effers hunt bear? DNR increased the quota to five this year for Drummond Island. You still need around sixteen points to get a permit. I'm at 14 so I might luck into one but I have no idea how to bear hunt if I do happen to get a permit. I'll assume that sitting in the woods waiting for one to randomly walk in front of me is a big waste of time.

I used to bear hunt back in the 80s. We hunted over bait. Just gathered up food waste to fill 50 gallon barrels, let it rot then dump in the woods.

Don't you have to start that early? Driving up there every week or so to dump a bunch a bait doesn't seem like a productive use of my time.

Well it works better since they develop the habit - but dumping 50 gallons of rotten food out in the woods can draw animals from near and far rather quickly.

As if we needed more reason to kill the little varmints.

Never Before Seen: Deer Spotted Eating Human Bones

In an unprecedented finding, researchers spotted a deer chewing on a human rib during a study aimed at examining how human remains decompose in the wild.
