Love seeing the Nets at Barclays. I was there a week before last Tuesday when they played the Pacers.
It's a nice stadium, eh? A little on the small side but whatevs.... it'll be cool seeing the Islanders there next year (for those that will still be in NYC, unlike moi).
I agree seeing the islanders there would be awesome. Prob not a bad seat in the house for a hockey game.
Also, brook Lopez is amazing to watch. He had a great game Friday.
That's true, MSG seems more "live". Had you been therefore the renovation? The first time I went there, the year before they started renovating, I was very underwhelmed... looks much better. They did a really good job.
I hit up Barclay's cause I grew up never caring about the NBA or the Pistons but when the Nets were announced to move to Brooklyn I decided to make an effort and glad I did. So I became a transplanted Nets fan. Now I follow them as closely as I do any other sports besides MSU basketball.
MSU Spartans, Red Wings, Tigers and Nets (not an NFL fan)... kinda weird set of teams to be a fan of.

I didn't catch any of it but Gary Harris started last night and played 35 minutes against the Clips. 4-8, 3-6 from deep, 2-2 FTs, 2 boards, 2 assists, 1 steal, 2 PF, 1 TO.
AP continued to start and had a horrific game against Anthony Davis and New Orleans, 1-8 and 4 PFs.

AP was missing on purpose. Minny is playing for the #1 pick.

If you're getting tired of his "antics," do you really love him? I love literally every single thing he does on the basketball court, "antics" included. I loved the muscle pose in Davis's face today. I loved the tongue in Blake Griffin's face (Blake is a huge pussy, fuck the Clippers). I love Draymond's swagger, I love the trash talk, and I love the results. If it were somebody else, sure I might find all of it off-putting, but it's Draymond, who is maybe my favorite Spartan ever.
Love every second.

A nice story on Z-Bo
Canzano: The reinvention of Zach Randolph takes a turn on Beale Street
The reinvention of Randolph came in Memphis, after short stops with the Knicks and Clippers. The chapter of the story he's living now, the final piece of his basketball career, the growing family, the endless series of selfies with his fans on the streets, feels finally so peaceful.
"He's not just liked, he's beloved here," Grizzlies executive John Hollinger said. And teammate Mike Conley said, "He could be Mayor if he wanted." During breaks in Grizzlies playoff games, the franchise has now debuted a bit titled "Z-Bo's Deep Dish Thoughts," which plays off the Jack Handey production from Saturday Night Live.

It's surprising how much the warriors struggle when he's on the bench.

Los Angeles Clippers' Branden Dawson has eye-opening NBA summer league debut
Former Michigan State standout Branden Dawson led the Los Angeles Clippers with 14 points and 14 rebounds in his NBA summer league debut Saturday in Orlando.
Travis Trice, Dawson's Michigan State's Final Four teammate, also shined in his first outing, helping Miami outscore Indiana by 14 points when he was in the game (plus-minus).
Trice played 17:47 and scored seven points with three assists and three turnovers. He was 3-of-6 shooting, including 1-of-2 beyond the 3-point arc, as the Heat scored a 92-76 win over the Indiana Pacers.
Appling, teamed with Glen Rice Jr. in the backcourt, was 4-of-7 shooting from the floor and 9-of-10 from the free-throw line with four steals and a blocked shot in the game.

Summer League Recap: Game 3
Branden Dawson made his first Summer League start count.
A Clippers team that had struggled early in games through their first two matchups found a spark Tuesday afternoon in Dawson, who had four points, four rebounds and two steals in the first six minutes to help the Clippers jump out quickly on the Thunder and earn their first Summer League victory, 80-63.
Dawson, who finished with 14 points, 11 rebounds, four steals, a block and an assist in 27 minutes, said he got excited the minute coach Brendan O’Connor told him he was starting.
“I got my mind right and got rested up, because I knew I would be playing more minutes,” Dawson said.
I just wanted to go out there and contribute. It felt nice because we got the W.”

I was watching the Tigers and had the game on my top TV. Honestly, Branden is impressive. He is a physical specimen, a man among boys, even with Winslow on the floor. In the 2nd half he was trying to do too much. If he just let's the game come to him and gives effort he can carve out a role in my opinion.

Appling tore shit up today about 20 points, 3 pointer, dunk, mid range, dimes, steals. Player of the game. Looked like the player I loved for 3.5 years. He has to be at least on the fringe of making the NBA now.

I think Dawson, and a (healthy) Appling AND Denzel are all 3 NBA players. Which just makes me sad about 2014. I'm a broken record on this. That was the most talented MSU team we'll ever see on the hardwood, at least in the Izzo generation. That was our chance for NC #2.
I am hopeful we get another one.

We flat out needed to sit appling. Looking how trice carried this team to a final four it wasn't out of the question.
Nonetheless our future couldn't be much brighter as izzo keeps stock piling his type of players

Re: Spartans in the NBA/Pro Hoops
I might kind of agree with you here? Hard to tell since you generally speak in tongues.
Appling is and was a really REALLY good player. It makes me sad to think about what he was diminished to at the end of his Senior year due to his injury. Hard to shake him crying in the locker room after the UConn loss for breaking the streak.
I also admittedly personally struggle to put that loss and the impact that group could have had in perspective because I missed the 2nd half of the game attending a funeral for a 25 year old father.

Once again you have hit the nail on the head. The Appling thing I still don't know what to make of. If that really was the case that he was so injured.... Trice proved himself more than capable the next year.
