Nope. I'm sorry my taste offends you.
Okay. Now I need to know. What chain pizza do you consider better than Jet's?

Uh, I've had gelatinous, thick pea soup, it's TERRIBLE.
Pea soup, much like clam chowder, needs to have that consistency first, that you can stand the spoon up in it, but the spoon soon tilts, that's the consistency you want.
Number two: Uh, pea soup on it's own can be a little bland. It wants, uh, a fairly aggressive peppering and salting.
Number three: Pea soup needs a fine dice of ham. Not bacon, not any other meat, not turkey. It needs a fine dice of ham.
Uh, number four: Uh, pea soup scorches easily. You don't wanna heat it on a high heat. You wanna heat it on medium low, just until it's warmed through.
Uh, number five: Pea soup is best made, uh, by hand, not out of a Campbell's can. And the key to pea soup, you want a ham bone, uh, for the stock you make, uh, to, to boil your peas.

Pizza Hut
Papa John's
Little Caesar's
Monelli's (local joint near me, probably #1 for me)
Domino's

I can tell you're already going to be an asshole over this, and probably whine about it as much as you do getting mods kicked off the site.

Pylon kicked himself off the board. I respect that.

Never had Monelli's but imagine it to be similarly great local pizza to nearby Alibi. Other great local pizza joints around that don't count as chain, either.

Seriously, all the other chain places you listed above Jet's? Do you not like Detroit style?

Interesting they waited this long. Yet another Detroit-based chain. Wonder if they'll start delivery?

They deliver via restaurant connection. I kinda doubt they go mainstream delivery. They are a bit more gourmet/pricey. I don't see a huge delivery market for a $20 8 square pizza before taxes and delivery, not to mention they have so much else on their menu aside from pizza. Doesn't really seem to fit the delivery store profile.

I would be really disappointed if they started opening standalone delivery stores. That would be the beginning of the end for them. Quality would go down, product would over-saturate the market and restaurants would close.

Haven't had Pizza Hut in years (nearest PH closed and got bulldozed to put up a gas station) but remember it being much better than Papa Johns.

You're right about Little Caesars. Have not been to LCA yet but the pizza at Joe Louis seemed much better than at their carryout locations.

Domino's Pizza will now deliver directly to beaches, parks

ANN ARBOR, MI - Pizza-lovers can now get Domino's Pizza delivered to beaches, parks, landmarks and other non-traditional locations around Michigan.

The Ann Arbor-headquartered pizza chain announced on Monday, April 16 the launching of more than 150,000 Domino's Hotspots, locations without traditional addresses where customers can receive delivery orders.

Local parks, sports fields and beaches are among the locations where drivers can meet customers curbside to hand off orders.

I'm not saying it's great pizza, I'm saying the company is doing pretty well.

The HH around here is pretty terrible. I think quality with a lot of these chains varies quite a bit by store.

Honestly, the only decent HH I've ever had were 4-slice pepperoni pizzas off the back of a roach coach. Tried a few stores around here. They suck.

My bottom 5:

1. Papa Johns: Just awful pizza every time I have gotten it. That sauce is terrible.

2. Little Caesars: Chewy cardboard crust. Burnt crusty cheese. Even for 5 bucks it isn't worth it.

3. Hungry Howies: Haven't had it in years because there isn't one anywhere near my house now, but I used to live right around the corner from one and remember it being pretty bad.

4. Dominoes: Similar to HH, I haven't tried this pizza in years. Heard it was better now, maybe I should give it a try.

5. Pizza Hut: This one actually bothers me because I used to love Pizza Hut as a kid and I really want to like it again, but every time I get it I'm disappointed.

Little Caesars from LCA is awesome. From a general store it's normally crap. If they come out with a new pizza it's good for a week or so.

HH is the best cheap za. Need my cheap pizza to be greasy and when you get the 4x butter cheese crust... Unbeatable

Won't order cottage inn/Papa John's/dominoes. Those require ranch to be passable and therefore aren't pizza

Have not been to LCA yet but remember a similar phenomenon at Joe Louis. Not sure what they do to the pizza but it's better than the stores. It might be something about the crust because I like the sauce and cheese at the stores.

Troy has burned through two Cottage Inn locations in the past 15 years. The first one was pretty good. The second one sucked. The Madison Heights location on 11 Mile survives.

Maybe because the pizza is fresh at the arenas and hasn’t been sitting in a cardboard box in a warming oven for who knows how long.
