Gonna go to an auction today

Post by kingstonlake on 2015-09-26, 06:53

Some rich old coot took the dirt nap four door down. Gonna check out out. Anything worth bidding on. Looks like he has a collection of over 50 outboard motors. A 70' Cadillac convertible, a 75' Bricklan, etc.

Can you pick up that 1970 Triumph for me? I'll go $1000 on it if it's running condition.

What model is the 65 Honda?   If it's a Dream in good shape that could be a gold mine.

The Ferguson 35 with a loader is a 2500-4000 tractor on Craig's depending on condition.

Full cases of 12ga would be handy during the zombie apocalypse

Damn.....piss on the Honda, I want that old Triumph.

If that Ferguson is running it's worth $3500 all day.

Here's the pictures....

Gonna walk over there in a few minutes. I'll guarantee you its not only running, but mint. Bought an electric pontoon hoist with awning off the daughter for $1500 before she liquidated through auction. Easy $3500 anywhere else.

Did the Posen Potato Festival already happen? Because that could be quite the weekend. Get a cherry picker at an auction and then get blitzed in Posen.

Times have changed alot in Posen. They even had a potato festival queen who's last name didn't end in "ski"

Looks far from mint but still might be worth the $1000.

A Ferguson 35 is worth around $1800-2500, about the same as an 8n or 9n Ford.   Adding the loader to it puts it between $3500-4000.   The tires look decent and the tin is pretty straight so as long as it runs without smoking too badly I'd say it's easily in that $3500-4000 range on Craig's.   If it runs really nicely and everything else is straight on it then $4500 isn't out of the question.

For a comparison I just sold an ugly as sin Massey 65 with a loader for $4500 and the loader wasn't on the tractor which is a big difference for most people.

The hottest item in that auction will be the King Cobra light sign.

Just spoke to the neighbor. He's wants it bad. Apparently it has a race or test history from Bonneville salt flats. Was bought directly from triumph. I guess there was a parachute from the blue flame vehicle? Was in the auction but the neighbor told the daughter to pull it cause its worth money.

Did the Ferguson run?   If so, that's $2000+ that could have been made.

Not a bad price on the Triumph, was it a 500?

Crazy.   The tractor alone in worse shape sells for $1300-1500 on Craigs.

Thanks, wish I could've been there to bid on it. I would love to have one to restore.

Found a couple of items in today's auction that wouldn't fit in the food thread but I thought my dear friend Robert might be interested in:

One for his bike, one for his Prius

Or this nice sign:

Auctions are fun. I've also enjoyed the few estate sales I've gone to, but I still can't help getting the feeling I'm picking through a dead person's stuff, so I usually skip those.
