Have you ever heard of the Teal Pumpkin Project?
Some coworkers were talking about the Teal Pumpkin Project, and I had no idea such a thing exists. Apparently you are supposed to paint a pumpkin teal or put up a sign that says you have Halloween treats that are non-food for kids who have allergies.

I've heard of it. Seems like a decent thing to do for a few kids that might come around with an allergy. Fairly low effort, too.

Never heard of it. Not doing it.
Any kid who gets a Snickers bar and doesn't want it, send it to me.
And Reese's Peanut Butter cups too. Love those.

What are non-food treats? Like pogs or Pokemon stickers?

Pfffffft, parents coddling their little precious ones. They end up with compromised immune systems. Throw'em out to play in a mud hole with peanuts and week old chicken salad.

Floss seems kind of pointless without food treats.

Hmmm.... exactly the opposite of what I've been told.

Wish this was around when I was young. I have shellfish allergies. Had to throw away all those shrimp cocktails people kept putting in my bag.

Re: Have you ever heard of the Teal Pumpkin Project?
My wife has mandated that we do this. She feels it would be hypocritical if we do not as our daughter has a sesame allergy (were talking full-blown anaphylaxis).
Weird fact: most candy corn has sesame oil (including Brach’s).
Seems kind of silly to me. Our daughter will go trick-or-treating - she simply will not be able to east most of the candy she gets. She does not appear to be all allergic to peanuts, but her allergist will not allow her to have them. (Most kids who are allergic to sesame are also allergic to peanuts and tree nuts as well, though my daughter does not appear to be.)
Looks like I will be buying some teal paint.

We don't even get anyone to come by our place. Probably because nearby a whole neighborhood apparently does a haunted neighborhood and half of south Miami goes.
