Night guard for teeth grinding
Looking to save some money from the dentist... anyone have success ordering a kit online and doing the impressions yourself? Not trying to buy some bulky piece of plastic over the counter either. TIA.

My bro used to grind his teeth really bad. Woke up the whole damn house. You should be fine with a clear one from Meijer. Boil some water and fit it to your teeth. Cheap and easy

I'd recommend picking up some Quickrete™. You also might want to spray some Pam™ on your teeth before you try to fit your own biteguards, in case the concrete sets too quickly.

Re: Night guard for teeth grinding
a recent survey commissioned by Harvard University School of Psychiatric Medicine indicates that teeth-grinding is a disorder most commonly rooted in the latent anxiety associated with a failure to be able to maintain even the most mundane message board Pick 'em contests.
something to consider.

Don't know about the correlation with Pick'em contests but if you are grinding your teeth now and it's new to you, you've got something(s) going on in your awake world that's not letting you really relax while sleeping.
Meijer, Walgreens and sporting goods stores sell the half guards that should work. Next time you are at the dentist mention that someone said you smetimes had been grinding your teeth while sleeping. They should tell you if they see real damage.
Some dentists see it as an income opportunity but my dentist would have people try the store bought fit your own solution before dropping $300-$600 on a custom guard from a dentist.

This is what I do. Assuming you fit and trim it correctly, it works well.
