I just stepped outside in the fair county of Macomb and nothing is happening. I'm disappointed. Looking for an excuse to close the office early today.

City and county offices and courts are closing. I'm thinking of breaking into the library and burning books and furniture to keep warm.

There's truth in that statement. My wife and I used to actively collect rare and unique 1st/1st editions, so we'd go to the ELPL used book sales. She once found a $20 in a book. She gave it to the Friends of the ELPL, but you're right--it's just a fire starter now.

I was heading into work when the storm started here in Commerce Twp. My car windows were frozen shut making it difficult to go through the drive through window at CVS to pick up a prescription on my way to work. Deceptive sleet type tiny little snowballs falling like rain quickly covered the roads and within 10 minutes, the roads were slippery as hell. Since I really didn't need to go in to work, I turned around and went back home. Now I'm posting in this thread as a potential survivor of the death storm. My God have mercy on our souls.

They're probably just there for the paycheck and don't give a shit about the job. They might also feel trapped, so basically do just enough to get by, but don't really go the extra mile to help out. Or I'm projecting.

Truth. Hearing about so many other offices closing but not theirs is going to drop Floyd's poll numbers even lower. Plus, there's little chance they'll be focused on the job.

Had constant 20-25 mph wind from the east starting around 9:30. By 11:30 the wind started gusting to 35-40 and we got a fine hail. My customers started closing at noon. Others sent most home after 1:00. It's was going to be a slow 3 day week which looks like it will be a slow 2 or 1 1/2 day week unless you are working for Floyd. Even retail were sending folks home.

Great description. My brother played the drums and always had a snare in his room. Constantly playing it. Drove me nuts.

I walked the dog a couple of hours ago. It was still just a hard sleet. Even walking wasn't too bad, although the dog clearly got tired of being pelted in the face. A couple of times she turned her head around to look at me like, "Do you believe this shit?" No idea if it's switched to freezing rain.

Global warming is in full effect. I went golfing January first in near 50 degree weather. Our temperature ranges from the 20's at night to the 40's in the afternoon. I can't recall a January like this ever.
