Likes it but 2 is better alone. I liked the flashbacks.
I've seen them both so many times but honestly after watching this "epic" I have a hard time remembering what happened in which film. I think I am starting to realize that I liked I a lot more than II. I think the best part of either of the films are the Deniro flashbacks , the Solozzo hit and Mike's time in Italy. I think that's mostly in II. But to be honest once they go out to LV and Roth gets involved and Pantangelli and his brother and Johnny Ola and Fredo and Cuba and blah blah blah....kinda convoluted and boring imo.

Agree with this. Two was a great movie because of the Dinero flashbacks when it all started. Epic started with the flashbacks. Went to godfather one then finished with two without the flashbacks. Which I think is the weakest story line of one and two. (The modern portion of two)

Think I slept 6 hours last night (this morning really), got woken up, drove every one home. Then went back to sleep for 4-5 more hours.

I just watched Trophy Kids on Netflix which profiles some overbearing sports parents. It was pretty good.

I, by no means, am mr parent. Usually have no clue how to do shit. It's all guess work and I'm always nervous about doing or saying anything. But I know in my heart parents like that are beyond fucked up. I believe in my 60's I'll have a relationship with my kids that allows them to bring their kids over to the house or cottage and we'll enjoy being around each other. Well, at least I hope. But those people are fucked up.

Better than that he was fucking Meryl Streep while doing those movies.

So tell us about Belize? What's the narrative on that trip?

The worst was the golf dad, just because of the nature of the sport. He is caddying for his 8 year old daughter while constantly riding her and ripping her to shreds after every bad shot. Like that could possibly help her.
I don't know if I have a little bit of that in me. When I see my kid on the court making the same mistake over and over I want to yell something from the stands and wish I could get on the court and do something to get the message across. But I try to bite my tongue.
Sometimes I try to say it in a nice way later but it still doesn't get through anyway. I guess it is best to just shut up completely about it even if I think they need the help.

I think it's great to coach up your kid, or explain why they need to do things better or if you think they're lacking effort. But there is a way and time. I really do think 95% of all parents know how and when to do it also. The reason they have those shows is that it gets the 95% of us outraged enough that we keep watching it.

This thing gets too dark at the end. Not a huge fan of the turn Pt II takes about mid-way through.
Trivia question but I believe it went he was in highest percentage of "best pictures " in regards to movies he stared in than any other actor. It was a really high percentage. Dog day afternoon too. I'll think of others.
Well done.
I Knew It Was You: Rediscovering John Cazale
He appeared in 5 movies before he died: The Conversation, Godfather I & II, Dog Day Afternoon, and The Deerhunter. Each one was nominated for Best Picture.
He was dying of lung cancer when he was cast in Deerhunter, and the money people refused to greenlight the movie because he was uninsurable. Robert DeNiro personally put up money to insure him. Cazale finished the shooting, but died before the movie was released.
A wonderful actor. If you want my recommendation, pick up Dog Day Afternoon. Great stuff.

Love Dog Day. What's his line when Pacino asked him what country he wanted the ransom plane to take them to? " I always like Utah". Pacino says "em that's not a country".

Pacino talks about that in the doc. IIRC, Cazale ad libbed the line. Whether or no, Pacino almost cracked up.

I'd buy you a porn star for the night SD if you would document it. But what's the point, you're loaded, you can pay for it yourself.

I'm probably not millennial enough. No real desire to Eiffel Tower and get my junk that close to another dude's junk. Pretty secure in my sexuality but still no real desire.

I just threw in a Copenhagen chaw, immediately felt ready take the biggest, best shit ever. Looked over, no toilet paper. No toilet paper anywhere. Had to use napkins and now my ass hurts. I flushed napkins too, I don't know if that was a good idea. Fuck, I need to get in the shower and let some water run down my ass crack. good night.
