There's an Asian Restaurant on EGR across from Giorgio's that rents parking space (I think it's EGR@Durand). I think they rent by the semester or by the month, but you might check to see if you can make arrangements for a week. Consider renting for two weeks, though, because once you've finished that first week, you'll be ready to rent another one.

There's no room. He has stage equipment and partitions spilling out from his garage.

If I had to guess, I might think the first part is legit while dismissing the second. But that's only a hunch.

Thx. She'll be pulling up early Monday morning and leaving for the airport late Thursday. Maybe I'll just have her park in a parking structure if I can't figure out where you're talking about.

The restaurant used to be called Asian House, but that closed a few years ago, sat dormant for awhile, reopened as Chop Stix (terrible, btw), quickly closed again, remodeled and opened as something else. I don't know its current name, but friends have told me it's not good food. But I do know they've offered spots for parking.
I'm pretty sure it's E. Grand River at Durand. It's on the northeast corner. FYI, Durand is just east of Bogue Street, on the north (westbound) side of Grand River. Let me know if I can include any more directions that will help to confuse you.

Your freshman daughter can park her car at my place.
Heh.
Just kidding. It's nowhere near campus. That would be super inconvenient.

It's actually pretty easy - park in the structure and leave the vehicle there. When you go to retrieve the vehicle, walk past the entrance and hit the button and get a new ticket. Go into SBS or something, buy something, get validation, and then present the ticket to the attendant when you leave. Easy as pie.
LOL, might be something I'd try, but I'm not going to tell or try to teach my daughter how to try to game it. I think they put an envelope on each window each night.

Define near... chandler crossing the village and the club would work. Landings too, but after 9 they have security so it's more of a pain to get to at night

They do put an envelope on the car each night. As the father of 2 MSU kids I can tell you the tickets add up in a hurry.
And an officer of the court should not be advocating being a scoff law. Just sayin.

I used to park in the bottom floor of the Marriott parking garage for nearly a year when I lived across the street. They almost never went to the bottom floor to put those envelopes since there were never any cars down there. I didn't go with ghosts plan of getting a new ticket, I'd just tell them I lost mine. They either make me pay since the beginning of the day (a couple bucks) or they'd ask when I got there.
Man, that was a fun fucking year. Lived above the dry cleaner on Mac. Nice place up there. Couldn't be a better location.

Dad couldn't afford to pay for my college, but damn did that guy support me. Gave me a piece of shit car that he was proud he bought for me, paid the insurance and was damn happy he could do something for me. anyway, I used it at MSU and boy did the tickets pile up. He paid them all. He passed last April. One of the things that I thought of at his funeral, was how happy he was to buy me that car for college, and how much of a fuck up I was to let those tickets pile up in his name. Weird the things you think of at funerals.

BTW, daughters dorm is on the east side of campus. I asked about that little strip mall on grandriver. The one where the TC pie company is in. Could she park it there and leave it for three/four days. She said a friend in her dorm tried that and got it towed.

I'll ask. I think her current room mate is going to be a sorority girl next year. Already is, but will live in a house next year. Good thought.

No, it's not a good thought. It's a terrible thought. Guys in my house who found cars parking in our lot that didn't belong there went overboard with soap, shaving cream, trash, and kitchen scraps. Only then did they have it towed. Residential parking is at a premium, and people get very protective when someone parks where they don't belong.

Train and bus station are now combined in a new facility behind where the old train station was.
