There are three “main” screens - Home - Live - Library. Home is where the shows you watch most pop up along with other suggestions based on your viewing and search history. Live is well, live current TV broadcasts just like regular cable TV. And library is where you will find your saved/recorded shows.
I saw the live screen guide. It looks incredibly clunky compared to the DN guide...huge fonts and icons and only a couple hours of programming where DN offers six at a time that you can scroll ahead.

Made the switch yesterday.  Screwed around with navigating YTTV a little.  Find it to be a PITA so far.  Fortunately the switch didn't immediately kill access to cable.  Seems WOW is leaving it accessible for now, hopefully until they pull the plug on all cable service Dec 10.

Found a YTTV for dummies vid I'll be referencing a lot.

It's like an iphone. Just use it to figure it out.

I love my apple TV remote (with the YTTV). But, other people hate it.

I did accidentally figure out how to go back to a channel. And occasionally I'll have a screen of browsers open up (like on a phone) which might make it easier to switch back and forth from YTTV to Peacock (or whatever for games), but I haven't figured that one out yet.

Good Luck.

Just got a notice from Sirius that my next renewal period would be $28/month for a year. Went online and hit the cancel button. My next renewal period is now $7/month for a year. I'll lose most sports and news but they rarely got listened to in my car anyway.

Shits about to hit the fan. Only 3 days left til WOW cuts off their cable service and forces using YTTV. Already tested using YTTV on my laptop and one smart TV. Used the bedroom TV (not smart, with firestick) successfully watching appleTV+ early this year. Forget how I did it. Recently been unsuccessful getting it to streaming mode.

Firestick is still connected. Put fresh batteries in the fs remote but can't get the TV to respond to it. Fucked with the original TV remote settings trying all HDMI ports, What the hell am I doing wrong?

Pantry, you can single handedly plan an entire run of a some big three's vehicle production. This is not as difficult. Just scoot the focus around the screen and hit the OK button. You will get this.

Do you see the firestick screens?

I’ve learned that using the hdmi adapter  that comes with the fire stick instead of plugging the stick directly into the TV is better. Remote seems more responsive. No idea why.

Using one of those.  The stick won't fit in the TV port.

No. Nothing. IIRC, when it worked with AppleTV the fs remote would even turn the TV on and off.

Tried. Didn't do anything with the TV, but the light at top right of the remote flashed on and off for about a minute,

I'm not a Firestick fan. Processor blows IMO. It is is either slow or unresponsive. I bought a cheap FireTV a few years ago as a second football TV and fucking hate it. Roku is the way to go if you don't have a smartTV. $50 on Amazon and it will be there Monday. Way more responsive and user friendly. Bought a Roku SmartTV for tailgate this year and love it. It will replace the FireTV. You can get a cheap 50" Roku TV for $250.

Does the Firestick need to be plugged into a separate power source? I think so but can't remember. Some Roku's don't need a separate power source.

If you're able the get to the correct HDMI port with your regular remote and it nothing shows up, it is not getting power or fubar. It should auto turn on automatically when you select that HDMI port with or without the remote working. Try a different HDMI port, power cord, outlet or check to see if it works on the other TV.
