Up until now, the treatment has been changingood my diet and anti-inflammatories. Just saw the doc this morning and I'm being referred to a podiatrist. No longer thinking that it's gout but rather a stress fracture.

On a side note, I have suffered with gout for many, many years. I finally got tired of being on the NSAID treadmill, saw a rheumatologist a few years back who put me on Allopurinol and haven't looked back. Haven't had an attack since.

For those of you saying diet, this is true for mild cases, but I've dropped 50 lbs in the last 2 years, exercise almost daily, and eat a pretty healthy diet but still have a very high uric acid count that needs to be controlled medically.

Some people are just genetically prone to the disease.

Update: Not gout. X-rays revealed a possible stress fracture in the metatarsal and a telescoping fracture of the proximal phalanx. The pain has been getting worse and the podiatrist MD can't believe I'm still able to walk without crippling pain. It also looks like it happened a long time ago based on the bone healing that is visible.

Ball of left foot has been dry and cracked for over a month and been pissing me off. Bought a tube of topical cream called Miracle Foot Repair at Walgreens. Applied it twice a day according to directions for weeks. Didn't do shit.

Remembered I had a jar of calendula balm. Have had it over 10 years and used it mostly for infrequent hemorrhoid flare ups.

Been putting the ass balm on my foot for a few days now and this stuff is working true miracle foot repair. Dryness and irritation are almost completely gone.

You may remember I started a thread here this winter about embarrassing injuries related to my ice fall while holding my 3 yr old during kindergarten drop off. Wife had some hippy healing cream. I applied it for a few weeks. Seemed to be going well. Until it wasn't. Major infection. Didn't really take it seriously at the time, antibiotics cleared it up once I went to the doc. I was told afterwards it was life threatening. It hurt bad but not that bad.

You in MI correct? Ask for that weed card, and lots of immediate release Opioids. That slow release crap is garbage.
