Has Dantonio lost his mind? Empty Has Dantonio lost his mind?

Post by Herbie Green Thu 3 Nov 2016 - 19:46

When BW went for 1 point against ND with a five point lead it was at that moment I knew he wasn't fit to be a head coach. Now in consecutive weeks Dantonio has had his kicker try to run a 35 yard dash and then goes for two when down seven.

I struggle to even ask this question because I think so highly of the guy but I don't know

I get your point, but don't think so. Dantonio is all about routine and comfort, and this season is anything but so he's freaking out. losing is completely out of his element, and it shows.

so the question is, what's more important to him familiarity or winning. if familiarity, he refuses to a make any coaching changes in the off season and just makes up excuses as to what happened and same oLD same old.

so next year either he'll right or all the fans who have watched msu football over the past 50 years will be. he might just then retire.

now if he chooses winning, he will need to break up the band and bring in a new lead guitarist or too, and we are back to out winning ways.

bottom line: flexibility is not in Dantonio's wheelhouse.

I dont' know about losing his mind, no idea about the fake fieldgoal and it was extremely disappointing.   However, I get the two point thing.  However if you were "trying to send a message, put your full back in, tell Allen and the boys up front, here we go and shove it up their ass.   I always hate to question the play after it's been called because hind sight is perfect vision, but I do get why he was going for two.  No doubt about it, everyone is havin ga bad year, from our SC guys where we're seeing a ton of injuries still, to our staff who seem to be making bad calls, and not as sharp as in the past, to our captains and seniors who seem to be not as great of leaders as we've had in the past, to some real shitting body language out there when things go bad.

I love MSU football, I love the campus, but I can't wait till this season is over.   What an epic collapse.  Will be interesting to see where this goes next year.

Although I don't always agree with you I enjoy the back and forth. It is a shame the main board frowns on sports discussion but at least we now have a place
