Then Ohio State will not make the playoffs. "Championships Won" is the first criteria listed when comparing similar teams

1. They aren't going to take two teams from the same conference.
2. They aren't going to select a non-Big Ten champ over a Big Ten champ.

Everyone assumed OSU was a lock but now momentum is building for PSU. And why shouldn't it, as PSU owns the two most important data points over OSU - the head to head win and the conference championship.
Seems impossible not to select PSU over OSU but predicting what should happen and what will happen may not end up being one in the same.
5 out of 9 experts on CBS sportsline have PSU in over OSU.
538 has OSU with an 87% chance and PSU with a 14% chance. That's improved but still bordering on a longshot. But when you consider how this model works I think PSU's chances are better than that. He is running thousands of simulations with different factors with things like championships and head to head. So 14 out of 100 times those factors are weighted enough to put PSU on top.
That should be enough to make OSU fans sweat. A model is only as good as its assumptions. You validate those assumptions over time but in order to do so you need data and there is zero. No one knows the actual weight human committee members will asign until two hours from now.
