It's Carolina with a new username. This board stuff is outta hand. Wells has plummeted off the deep end without you and I can't even remember what my username is over here. Lol
Anyways, look me up sometime. Going to do the brew tour one of these days.

Isn't Asheville near where the Smokies and the Blue Ridge mountains meet?  There is a golf course there...Maggie Valley.  Front nine is boring, back nine is heaven on EARTH!!!  I want to have been there lately.

Thinking of a smoky mountains trip this summer with the family. Any tips appreciated. Where should we rent a cabin? Gatlinburg? Travelling with a couple of elementary aged kids.

Gatlinburg, while in a beautiful part of the country, is pretty much a hideous tourist trap. I would suggest (I'm biased, I know) going an extra hour or so east down I-40 into North Carolina - spending some time in and around Waynesville and over into Asheville.

not sure what you're into but some great outdoorsy things to do - hiking, rafting, biking, etc. PM me if you want some more specifics.

yep.. maybe they just did some housecleaning because they knew their favorite son was coming back into town.. but, as usual, downtown Asheville was all I could hope for..

I've never been to Dollywood - and I probably haven't even driven through Pigeon Forge in over 25 years.. but it was a gaudy tourist trap then - I suspect it's only moreso now.

yeah... anywhere from 3-8 inches in the mountains... depending on where you are.

it was good. Did a lot of nothing, really. Some great restaurants there - with a lot of great local beers. I gotta find a way to get my mountain bike down there with me one of these days, though.

didn't see Kenny George. I think he was busy being tall somewhere.
