But what about the farmers?!? No one is thinking about the farmers!!

Their programmable, automated equipment plowing and planting the fields is guided by GPS, not visual cues.

My grandpa was a farmer. His tractor was smarter than me, and that was back in the early 2000s - the tech has only advanced since then. Farmers are going to be fine.

Liked LMS better than HI. The LMS episodes that included cast members from HI were good. The ones with Patricia Richardson were pretty damn funny.

If we’re going to change the clocks still then we should start doing it at
4pm on a Monday. Everybody gets to finish work at 359 then suddenly it’s 5. Nbd everyone would enjoy the hour they didn’t have to work. Instead we have everyone all tired and cranky. Stupid

That makes some sense. Better yet do it on Friday at 3:59pm, giving all an entire weekend to adjust.

There are 525,600 minutes in a year. (525,624 this year). We're talking about 120 minutes being fucked with in time changes. It's not that big a deal

Duff you can take care of my very young kids for the 4,320 minutes immediately after a time change and get back to me. You have 535,600 minutes a year how bad can it be

Personally, I think we should ban all overnight travel between time zones because most people clearly cannot handle such time changes.

Michigan bill seeks end to Daylight Savings Time via ballot initiative

For those grumbling about losing an hour of sleep on Sunday, new legislation could put Michigan on a path to do away with the practice of moving clocks ahead an hour in the spring and then back an hour in the fall.

Sen. Thomas Albert (R-Lowell) last week introduced Senate Bill 770, which seeks to place on the November ballot the question of whether or not to continue observing daylight saving time.

“It has been more than 100 years since our nation first experimented with daylight saving time, and we find ourselves still asking the same question: Why do we do this?” asked Albert. “I, for one, cannot find a valid reason. It seems to me that changing our clocks twice a year is a poor and unnecessary policy. But I know opinions differ, and daylight saving time affects every Michigander in some way. That is why I propose putting this to a vote of the people.”

He's not wrong.

Again, I'll say, when you have 8 months of one thing and switch to 4 months of something else, you should just stick with the 8 and make it 12.

Isn't one valid reason that they don't want kids standing in the dark waiting for school buses?

Yes, but I never see kids standing at bus stops without about 8 parents' vehicles parked right there, but that's a whole 'nother thing.

I heard that "Standard TIme" was created by the railroads so they could schedule trains without having crashes. With all the sophistication we have now maybe we could have one "global time" based of course on Greenwich time and then local "sun time". The US time zones are too big east to west so states like Michigan are practically an hour later in sun time compared to say Boston.

Maybe short days will slow down the rapid growth that’s getting Marquette attention these days.
