So let's talk about Jon Reschke

My understanding is that this is being vaguely referenced on other sites now, and some of those references are getting deleted. It is also my understanding from reading between the lines that this getting out into the open is not going to harm the situation any further as in, it's already a done deal.

So let's be that board where we can talk about real stuff without it getting deleted.

My understanding is Reschke dropped an n-bomb in reference to a former teammate and it made its way to social media. Staff wants him off of team. Anyone have any conjecture?

The rumor is the teammate was Jamal Lyles and it involved an ex GF. Lyles somewhat of a....let's say...not great teammate/friend who you can't trust to not go balls deep in your lady when you're not around. And perhaps Reschke dropped a really terrible word in reference to JL in a text to the girl who then used it in a way to hurt Reschke, by getting it blasted on social media.

I feel like a fuckin alien, this would have never happened in the 90's.

You know what though x, that's the crazy thing about 2017. I agree it has no place in the lockerroom but these kids are all on social media 247. It can seep into the lockerroom even if it doesn't originate there.

A neutral observer wanting to facilitate calm discussion might use the term "Candidate Trump" or even "President Trump".   And yes as the the old saying goes to not discuss religion or politics among friends.

Edited to clarify: The term you used seems out of place one sentence after asking other not to "politicize this". Seems like a bit of a double standard.

I think our society (media) has forced most people to choose one way or the other. You have to pick a side, there is no middle ground.

To be fair (and I don't think there'd be any disagreement)... I'd feel (and do feel) the same way if a Captain brought up BLM and Bernie Sanders in their team huddles or "sermons" or whatever captains do.

Yeah I suppose....but know your audience. This is a different discussion, though.

This really sucks for the on field product but hopefully getting rid of certain controversial personalities from last year's team, which definitely had chemistry issues....will help build some dawgs again.

At least we know what kind of opinion you need to have if you want to fit into a B1G locker room.

So anyway, what does the LB corps look like next year if we assume Reschke is gone?

I don't think that's necessarily true. I think what it boils down to more is players keeping politics out of the lockerroom, not having only one acceptable opinion.

And yes. If the right was rioting I'd be chiding them too. Being a sore loser isn't pretty, I've never cared for thdm.

I guess I'm too old.  Back in the day there were some unspoken rules about "dating" a teammate's girlfriend including knowing if one relationship had ended.  Guys would actually talk to see if it was okay to see another's former girlfriend or at least check to see if it was a girlfriend.

Reschke was angry and felt betrayed.  But 20 years ago there was no twitter, IM's, Facebook and email was primarily business.  A lot of young emotions get permanently registered now.

If it happened this way Reschke probably needs to talk to every teammate that took offense and see if its enough.  The only thing Dantonio can do is talk again about social media and see if what Reschke said was enough to patch things.

I'm not blaming either player allegedly involved or the woman involved but these guys have to realize there are young women who target football players for "relationships" just like an athlete can target attractive women.  

Maybe she's one of those women who seeks revenge. Wouldn't be the first to dump or be dumped and select a new guy to get back at the old boyfriend.  There is some vindictiveness if the woman is responsible for the screenshot and passing it on.

I guess since I started that thread on the other site and it got locked out I should probably finish it. The alleged above was true, but it's much, much worse. I've seen the texts and holy spirit it's horrible.

Also in reference to Riley B, he was pretty much a nightmare the whole season. I heard his brother couldn't even reason with him it was that bad.
