We wanted to let everyone know that later tonight going into tomorrow, 247Sports will be merging the Scout Michigan State site into SpartanTailgate. Hondo and his staff will not be coming over with this merge. He has decided to go in a different direction with his site Spartan Nation following Signing Day.

I have nothing against Barnes but Hondo is a complete embarrassment. I still don't understand how MSU Athletics hasn't blackballed the guy. So congrats, I guess.

Always thought Trevor and Mel didn't like Hondo.  Remember them being super pissed the day he named his pregame show Spartan Tailgate. Forget which bar it was broadcast from.

I don't have a big problem with Hondo. He'll stick his dick out there a little too far sometimes and the writing can be pretty poor, but he does put in the time and provides some good info from time to time.

I remember the first time that I ever heard him was on Lansing AM radio (probably around the time Valenti was pulling back-up duty on the station). I wasn't qualified to challenge what Hondo said, but damn he had a passion that I hadn't seen/heard before. He talked about the Spartan Nation, a term I honestly hadn't heard before.

I was like " ". It was kind of like Dantonio's half-time interview at ND ("I don't care about Notre Dame..."). I think I had a bit of an inferiority complex before hearing either of these guys... So, moral of the story, as of right now, I'm cool with Hondo.
