The store wasn't searched when Murillo-Moncada went missing because he wasn't scheduled to work that day, Council Bluffs police Sgt. Ted Roberts told ABC News. The cooler was in a back room and not in public view, he said.

Roberts said employees would often climb up onto the cooler to relax while on breaks.

It's unknown how Murillo-Moncada fell down the 18-inch gap behind the cooler, Roberts said. But he noted that if Murillo-Moncada had fallen sideways and gotten wedged in, he likely wouldn't have been able to scream for help -- especially over the noise of the coolers.

It's also not clear how the smell of a decaying body was never detected, Roberts said.

Security footage from the parking garage at 45 Vine Street showed Strauss had dropped her card while trying to pay for parking as she exited.

When she opened her door to retrieve the card from the ground, Strauss accidentally accelerated, according to the Columbus Police Department.

Strauss's car collided with the payment kiosk and her head was trapped between her car door and door frame. She was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Little Ferry police Capt. Ronald Klein told NBC News on Thursday that two officers found a 62-year-old driver repeatedly revving up the engine and rocking his Mazda SUV back and forth to dislodge the vehicle from the snow.

He said officers told the man to stop accelerating to no avail before telling him they were returning to their vehicle to call for a tow truck. While walking back to their vehicle, the officers heard a popping sound and saw the SUV catch fire.

The officers tried to get into the vehicle, but Klein said the doors were locked. After several attempts to break into the SUV, one officer eventually broke the rear passenger window.

At that point, Klein said the vehicle was engulfed in flames and smoke, forcing officers to retreat to a safe distance from the SUV.

This is messed up. However these people died, all I can think of is the T-1000 from Terminator: T2 and how it shattered into a jigsaw puzzle when it got doused in liquid nitrogen. Except, being real people, they couldnt put themselves back together again.
For their sake, I hope they only just passed out before dying from fumes.
