I love this trend now where Trump nominees are saying that they would "rule according to the law and established precedent" Like yeah... we know. We're not asking you to wing it, we're asking what your interpretations of rulings are, because that's important. Judgement happens to be important if you're a, you know, Judge.

The reason we fucking need judges is to interpret statute and rule, so you need to tell us your opinions because they fucking matter.
