The Blue Wave of 2018
Sorry, there’s not going to be any 'blue tidal wave' this fall
The bolded portion illustrates what liars the Press are as they try to make people think Trump is historically unpopular. Most of the members of the mainstream press belong in the tBin.
Every special election, no matter how small, is inflated to an epic scale that “spells disaster” for the president and the party he commandeered in 2016.
Just one thing stands in the way of this electoral disaster of biblical proportions.
Reality.
The writing is simply not on the wall for a Democratic blow-out. The president’s approval rating has been consistently higher than Obama enjoyed at the same point in his presidency. Economic news has been staggeringly good. The unemployment rate is at a 44-year low. The Democrats have no coherent message. The NRA is flush with cash following this year’s extremist anti-gun rhetoric. And the RNC has 40 million dollars more than the “dead broke” DNC.
Now, this is not to suggest that Republicans will make huge gains themselves. Honestly, how many more offices are left for Republicans to win?

Re: The Blue Wave of 2018
The Dems could do worse than to listen to Willie Brown - one of the shrewdest politicians alive.
Trump is more popular than Dems want to admit
Trump is more popular than Dems want to admit
It’s time for the Democrats to stop bashing President Trump.
It’s not going to be easy, given his policies and personality. It might even mean checking into a 12-step program. But setting a winning agenda is like maneuvering an aircraft carrier. It takes time to change course. And if they want to be on target for the November midterm elections, the Democrats need to start changing course now.
Like it or not, a significant number of Americans are actually happy these days. They are making money. They feel safe, and they agree with with the president’s protectionist trade policies, his call for more American jobs, even his immigration stance.
The jobs growth reports, the North Korea summit and the steady economy are beating out the Stormy Daniels scandal and the Robert Mueller investigation in Middle America, hands down.
Rather than stoking the base by attacking Trump, Democrats need to come up with a platform that addresses the average voters’ hopes and concerns. Not just the needs of underdogs or whatever cause happens to be the media flavor of the week.

He's popular with a lot of white people. The Democrats are sore afraid of a populist wave that they will happily forego POC and real progressives to keep their boomer bullshit power structure.
I'll be happy if they lose big. It will be funny.

Well, Goose blamed me for editing one of his posts. I know I didn't do that so I asked him which post was altered so I could look into it. He can't/won't tell me for whatever reason. He still won't come clean about what is really going on. Now he posts here for some reason. It's pretty bizarre to be honest.

No, more that they are unfair to those that elected him. I care about them. They're my people in many ways.
Post: Trump Voters Remain Loyal Because They Feel Disrespected
“We voted for President Obama and still we are ridiculed. Still we are considered racists,” said Cindy Hutchins, a store owner and nurse in Baldwin, Mich. “There is no respect for anyone who is just average and trying to do the right things.”
“Our culture in Hollywood or in the media gives off the distinct air of disregard to people who live in the middle of the country, as if we have no value or do not contribute to the betterment of society,” said Amy Giles-Maurer of Kenosha, Wis. “It’s frustrating. It really wants to make you stand up and yell, ‘We count,’ except of course we don’t. At least not in their eyes.”…
Dan Balz, The Washington Post’s chief correspondent, spent the past 16 months interviewing voters in rural areas of the upper Mississippi River valley where Obama won but then broke decisively for Trump…
“One of the places I would agree with the hardcore Trump people, they’re tired of being treated as the enemy by Barack Obama,” said Dennis Schminke, 65, a retired manager at Hormel, the company makes Spam in Austin, Minn., an area just north of the border with Iowa.
David Miller, a white 54-year-old Ohio voter at a polling place in Cudell Recreation Center in Cleveland, pulled a Republican primary ballot Tuesday for the first time he could remember to vote in the governor’s race. Like many other voters, he felt he had been left behind.
“I mainly was a mainstream Democrat,” he said, before describing how that started to change before the 2016 election. “Every time I turned on the TV, there’s a Democrat calling me a racist and I just got tired of it.”
Cue Bob telling us that they hate the browns and President Obama.

Ok. Fine. Many people I've spoken to who voted for trump regret it. They didn't expect him to be this bad. Maybe they say that to me because they know I'm not a fan of his. Most just didn't like Hillary. I've learned my lesson, never vote for Republican again at any government level.

What reversal on a personal level have you experienced under Trump?
Lost job?
Pay go down?
Taxes go up?
New war?
Health insurance cancelled?
I'm curious regarding what suffering he's caused you to swear off ever voting for a party again.

Re: The Blue Wave of 2018
The cuts to social programs and schools will affect me. The president doesn't affect my job status. I was unemployed while Bush was in office, for the most part, and have had steady employment since 2007. I did get a raise for the first time in 10 years, but that was because someone else quit unexpectedly and I had to take over their work. I won't comment about the war thing, because Trump wants to play with his toys and he's surrounded himself with warhawks.LooseGoose wrote:InTenSity wrote:Ok. Fine. I also don't see any way in which taxes won't go back up once Trump is out of office. My check went up by a whopping $120 a month. I don't mind paying taxes for social programs or schools. I'm not going to go out of my way to add taxes to my paycheck that I'm not forced to pay, no one does that.
Maybe I'm wrong, but I also no longer trust a party that preaches one thing, but their acts are completely different. I'm not saying I've voted for a lot of Republicans, but I have voted for them in the past if I thought they were the better candidate. Now that I know, it doesn't matter what they say, because it is Party over country and constituents, I have to vote against that.

the racist, bigoted sexual predator's world view isn't meant to negatively impact upper/middle class straight white males. It's meant to negatively impact women, brown people, poor people, children, folks of different religions from his twisted one, people in need of healthcare, jobs, respect, dignity, love, compassion, support.
that's why I oppose the racist, bigoted sexual predator.. and his racist, bigoted misogynistic, deplorable supporters - because I have a conscience and an interest in those less fortunate than I am.

By negatively impact are you referring to the fact that more of them have jobs than ever? Perhaps there's some other way those populations are suffering that you could alert us to? You seem quite tuned into the oppressed of the world as you jog by them or see them walk by the patio of the bar.

Can you specify what cuts have been made to school or social programs?
Strangely you consider Trump a warhawk yet we've not invaded any new countries under Trump, our last 3 Presidents can't make that claim.
I agree that your taxes will go up if Dems replace Trump, that's what they do. You are aware that with the tax cuts revenues have risen? Same thing happened in the 80s and 60s when tax cuts were enacted.
So if you don't trust a party that says one thing and does another who are you voting for? The Dems? Tell me about keeping promises they made on the Israeli embassy, gun control, immigration, etc, etc - all items they promised to do and in 2 years of complete control from 2008-2010 didn't act. So I guess your assertion that you'll vote for non lying politicos relegates you to fringe parties that never have to put up or shut up.
And as far as preaching one thing and acting another tell me some specific examples? Trump promised he would slow down illegal immigration, he has. Appoint conservative judges, check. Renegotiate trade agreements, check. Pull out of the Paris climate farce, check. Move the embassy to Jerusalem, check. Build a wall - oops, he keeps trying though. You may not love him and you may not support him but in many ways he's done exactly what he promised voters he would do.
I'm curious where you see party over constituents and country?
As I've said many times personally I don't care much for the man but politically he's been very much what he said he would be.

There were cuts to Dept of Agriculture, which could potentially affect my well being, since I work in the field. The cuts to the Dept of Commerce could really affect my well being, since they made cuts to NOAA, which helps to identify and track hurricanes.
9.2 billion in cuts to the Dept of Education, which sucks, because I need to spend more now during hte school year, for basic supplies, since the schools can't afford to buy them anymore. Not only that but the push for standardized testing is ridiculous, my Kindergartner had to take the SAT's this year. The teachers are relying on 5 and 6 year olds to be able to get considered for a raise. That is fucking stupid, oh and even though it isn't nation wide, it was Jeb Bush who pushed it through.
Dept of Health and Human services - Fuck poor people, they are a drag on society.
Treasury Dept - Lets cut out the IRS, so that way they are way more understaffed than they currently are. Right now is one of the easiest times to steal.
EPA - Again, fuck my kids, fuck the poor and most importantly fuck the great lakes.
I don't believe that big business has the public's best interest in mind and they will destroy and use up all resources necessary until everything is gone. Taking the leash off of them, and getting rid of regulations is going to be a recipe for disaster in the future.
The reason the Dems will have to raise taxes is to pay for your social security and other social programs that will have to be gutted at some point in the near future. The biggest irony here is that MI residents bitch about the roads. The whole reason the roads got to be as shitty as tehy are is because of massive cuts to taxes. Now imagine that for social programs throughout the US.
Oh well, fuck it.

Just so we're clear are you talking FY2017, if not what year are you referring to?

So you're referencing as having already happened and affected your life cuts that are merely grandstanding proposals. They are never going to happen in this world, that budget proposal was declared DOA by both parties in Congress.
I was hoping for real world, that shit is political fantasy.

The lead shrinks again...
More Shrinkage: Democrats’ Lead On Generic Ballot Dips Further To 4.7 Points
Probably because of this....you wouldn't know it if you only read the naysayers....

Satisfaction With Way Things Are Going in U.S. Rises to 37%
WASHINGTON, D.C. -- Thirty-seven percent of Americans are satisfied with the way things are going in the country today, up from 29% in April. Gallup has not measured a higher level of satisfaction since a 39% reading in late September 2005, although 37% were also satisfied right before the November 2016 election, and 36% were satisfied in February 2018 after the State of the Union address.

Great news for the Republicans!!
Hillary To Dems: We’re Going To Take Back Our Country — And I’ll Be There Every Step Of The Way

Exit question: Is it now officially okay again for politicians to say that they want to “take our country back”? Despite being the oldest hymn in the electoral songbook, that was briefly deemed racist for a few years not long ago. Glad to see it’s been restored to respectability just in time for Democrats to use it.
