Who knows... although tWife and I were in an airport bar in Seattle a couple weeks back and the guy next to us asked where in Wisconsin she was from and I realized I can't hear it... so who knows.

good to know I'm not hearing things. I've lived in Michigan my whole life and her accent is different to me, the fact that I can easily hear it means she's the one that's different. That's ok, just a curiosityAvgMSUJoe wrote:Who knows... although tWife and I were in an airport bar in Seattle a couple weeks back and the guy next to us asked where in Wisconsin she was from and I realized I can't hear it... so who knows.

The one thing that makes me a little sad about Kamala running is that we probably won't get a Big Gretch 2028 run. I really think she would have charmed the country.

I think Dems should learn from this election and have candidates run against the sitting President, assuming Harris wins this year. If Biden had some real competition in the primaries, maybe we would have avoided the messy situation of a month ago.

Whitmer wouldn't do that. She's too classy to attempt to unseat a sitting President. Unless Kamala goes full Dwayne Elizondo Mountain Dew Herbert Camacho on us, she'll play ball with the party.

What I mean is that there needs to be an understanding that competition is good. Let the people decide. It’s possible Harris may end up being unpopular for some unknown reason and we have to keep the options open. Everyone seemed to be afraid to tell Biden to step aside this year until it was almost too late.

I think everyone was willing to roll the dice until he went full on Puddling Brains in the debate. Unfortunately for the puppeteers, this isn't Covid and Uncle Joe couldn't hide in his basement for the entire campaign, and they got caught.

I don't know... so far I really like Walz. I know some of the Dem pundits have questioned the pick, but I think he's fantastic.

Walz has apparently said he has no interest in running for president. I would love if he did, though.

Which leads me to think they should replace him for 2028 to get someone in and prepped for 2032.

Nah, I'd rather have an open primary after 8 glorious years of Harris/Walz than have whoever they would replace Walz with for VP anointed as nominee-in-waiting. Democrats need to learn that lesson.

Re: Gretchen Whitmer?
Big Gretch is 52 years old, assuming that Harris wins, a big assumption, then in 2027 at the end of her term as Governor Big Gretch could be appointed to some cabinate position or maybe CoS to gain Washington experience for a run in 2032 when she would be 60
Re: Gretchen Whitmer?
There is always Mayor Pete too.. I think he would make a fine candidate. (anti-gay vote withstanding)
Which makes me realize AGAIN, the dems really do have a deep bench compared to the Rs. I bet we could list 10 people who are bright and up to the task.
