I'm not going to say that any other generation wouldn't have been able to endure the same, as I think that when truly put to the test, even pansy ass millenials could storm Normandy, or tredge through the horrific slop of the Pacific islands. But no other in the last 80 years has had to. And I also recognize that the Americans of that generation only endured a fraction of what they did in other countries, but when talking about American generations, they still hold a place above everyone else in the last 80 years.*

*Side note: I'm just saying 80 years, because when you start to get much before WWII, then it's really a very different country and a very different world. More rural, less technology, more disease, more hardships. It all makes it very difficult to compare, the further you go back.
