Dear young people, "Don't Vote" Ad
Thought this was relevant to post, considering the demographics of the board and your attitudes toward younger people.
(also, as fucked as I think the system is, I will be voting. )

It’s pretty true. Older richer and whiter people vote.

I'm getting awfully close to that 45-64 demographic. :(

Seems like a pretty realistic ad to me. It will have little effect on those who see it.

Re: Dear young people, "Don't Vote" Ad
I hate saying this, but this is the most important election I can ever remember. I have never been so fired up to vote. Have 4 millennial kids. 8 if you count spouses. 5 I won't have trouble encouraging them to vote and vote against the asshole in the oval office. 3 think the system is rigged and their votes don't count. Yep, they don't count if you don't vote. I'll try to convince them anyways.
I'm tired of these demonstrations. They have their place. But they don't mean a fucking thing if these people jamming the hallways of congress and filling the streets don't vote.

Why is the 45-64 group sample size bigger than the others? Seems it would naturally make up a bigger %

Look at the date on the article. Those are exit polls and the article is from the day after the 2014 election. That link should be treated with almost nothing more than a grain of salt 4 years later.kingstonlake wrote:Dr. Strangelove wrote:Last midterm

While I always vote, that's the problem with the generation. They think it's rigged anyway, so why bother. We know theres a lot wrong with that thought process, but we also know there is truth in voter hacking. It's unfortunately a lose lose.
My thought it, what do you have to lose by voting? More than if you dont. If only they all thought that way.

We do?? I know there is a huge problem in the voter registration process:
https://ktla.com/2018/10/08/california-dmv-finds-another-1500-people-it-wrongly-registered-to-vote-among-them-non-citizens/
But then you guys are all against showing proof of identity at the polls. Weird hypocrisy.

At least one non-citizen and perhaps many more were improperly registered to vote in California by the Department of Motor Vehicles
Since then, people have newly registered or updated their voter registration more than a million times
So literally one in a million confirmed.

Huh? We know for a fact (not opinion) that our polling system was/is compromised.
I don’t mind showing my ID for voting. It’s tjose in poor areas/low points in their life where they don’t have a valid ID. That’s where the issue is.
And side note.... I really had no idea how many people don’t have IDs/expired IDs until I started watching livePD.

It costs money to get an ID, so technically requiring an ID to vote is a voting tax.

Re: Dear young people, "Don't Vote" Ad
Yeah, I have a ton of friends from the homogenous north who live a pretty sheltered life. They want a wall built, because they're afraid of brown people, and the worst part is, they have no idea some of the lives peopel other than then the one they are living and can't figure out why they just can't show I.D. for voting or get themselves to polls during the day. I used to try to explain it to them, but it's always the same answer. It's frustrating on both ends. Stubborn sheltered people on one end that don't know what's going on with people on the other end, and yes, some people who ar too lazy to get an I.D. from the secretary of state. But many have enough money in their pocket for food or i.d., what do you choose.
My life was pretty sheltered too. I came from two college educated peopel who knew how to navigate h.s. and how to get into college. Never had too much problem with putting food on the table and paying electric bills and water bills. It's hard to convince a lot of people like me that everyone just can't do what I'm doing or have done. I don't know how you do that either.

I've seen no hard evidence of this. In fact, everything I've seen is that there is no evidence of this. I know Hillary voters like to tell themselves that the Russians hacked into voting machines and added millions of votes for Trump, but yeah that didn't happen.

Yet you take it as a fact that voter fraud is a huge problem.

Kingston, hadn't you heard? 3 million illegal aliens voted for Hills in 2016. Trump set up a commission.
