House Democrats already failing at messaging

And the president and his propaganda machine have a new foil to fight with.

Faced with nearly a million federal workers sitting at home or working without pay, what's the Democrat's first order of business when they take over on Tuesday?

Democrats still plan to make a wide-ranging anticorruption and voting rights bill their opening legislative priority. They will introduce the first bill of the Democratic House — which includes changes to campaign finance law, outlaws gerrymandering, and restores enforcement authority to the Voting Rights Act — on Wednesday, followed with a marquee unveiling ceremony on Friday on the steps of the Capitol.

Trump still hasn't spent almost any of the money you gave him for border security last year. The Senate passed a spending bill, but now refuses to recognize a democrat trying to reintroduce it (signalling that they are again on board with Trump's chaos). And you're going to introduce a bill that is destined to fail as some signal that the guards have changed? You know the propaganda machine will eat this up as elitist out of touch posturing, right? That sounds like a dandy bill, but it's going to go over like a turd in the punch bowl.

You need to send someone to Fox and shout to the rooftops (with plenty of evidence available to cite) that this is Trump's shutdown aided and abetted by the Republicans who are turning tail and running away (many just leaving office rather than dealing with this mess they've caused). You should be making grand gestures like proposing cutting off pay for congress until the government is funded. Instead you're going to stand up on the capitol steps with some banners and bullshit calling for an outlaw to gerrymandering? Come on. How tone deaf can you be?

The Senate and the house  passed a funding bill that they both agreed on. It's waiting for the president to sign it.

Just because that idiot doesn't want to sign it doesn't mean the world stops. You really think telling Trump you won't pay yourselves until he signs a bill will propel him to sign it? Hell repackage that into a win. "See I got Congress to stop taking free money during a shut down"

My reasoning is the president will be watching and he might react. Which is always a disaster.

First order of business is to start giving power back to the majority. That is the base of any legitimate government. When bullshit tomfoolery can be used to keep a minority philosophy dictating to the majority and millions of people are disenfranchised your country is morally bankrupt

Senator Mazie Hirono, D-Hawaii is donating her salary during the shutdown. I think all D's doing this would go a long way in making tRump look like a fool. Not that it's very hard to begin with...
