Our Defense will be good. Glad to see Charboneau go out on a limb like this.
Expect defense to again be Michigan State's strong suit in 2019

Maybe we should put all of the game threads here. That way, Pylon can’t screw things up.

Floyd, this pic makes me realize, we need an official tSwill vehicle and a Pacer would be perfect.Floyd Robertson wrote:I.B. Fine wrote:

We could all ride around in that glorious wide bodied vehicle listening to Bohemian Rhapsody while using our Mr Microphone to sexually harass females with our biting wit
I bet we could loan it to the Athletic Dept for recruiting trips, too.

joebach35I have decided not to enter my name in the NFL draft. I am very excited to put the green and white on for one more season. After talking with my family & coaches this is the best thing for me. I will continue to pursue my degree in hopes of graduating after the fall of 2019. We are not done yet Spartan Nation continue believing in us. 2019 will be special ![:v: ✌️](https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/emojione/assets/png/270c.png?v=2.2.7)

Not finished yet.
Maybe we can score 14 points in the outback bowl next year.

College football rankings: SN's pre-preseason top 25 for 2019
That last sentence doesn't seem to jive with not being in the top 25 but whatever.
You’re mad they missed the cut …
Michigan State has a ruthless midseason stretch with consecutive road trips against Ohio State and Wisconsin, followed by a home visit from Penn State and another visit to Michigan. Mark Dantonio has a habit of doing more with teams with lower expectations.

That was actually my smart ass intention. As shitty as that was it probably made a difference. Choosing not to play in meaningless bowls I have no problem with.

Michigan State mailbag: Offense needs a jolt to help supreme defense
A. Here’s the real crux of the issue: If changes are made, what will they be? I think we can safely assume there will be no adjusting the defensive staff, for the most part. I say for the most part because I’m still not convinced Dantonio appeases the critics and forces out any members of the offensive staff, namely co-coordinator Dave Warner. That means change could be anything from bringing in a consultant to give the offense a fresh approach or going back to a former coordinator who is already on staff. That, of course, would be Don Treadwell, who was hired as the 10th assistant last year and works with defensive backs while also focuses on mentoring freshmen. He was the Spartans’ offensive coordinator from 2007-10 before taking the head coaching job at Miami (Ohio).
In Treadwell’s four seasons running the Spartans’ offense, MSU finished second, sixth, second and fifth in scoring in the Big Ten and fourth, eighth, third and sixth in total offense. Not great, but solid, and much better than what has taken place the last three seasons.

If the offense could be even slightly below average we'll have something going next year. Come on, musical chair magic.

That was an interesting interview. Thanks for posting it, Floyd, b/c I never would’ve heard it. Couple of things come to mind: The way Jimmy Raye tells it, George Webster to MSU didn’t involve Joe Namath, as I’d heard for years. At least JR didn’t mention Namath.
The other is something I’ve maintained for many years, and that is how poorly MSU has held itself up as a pioneer in breaking the race barrier on American college campuses. Mandel and Feldman acknowledged not knowing what a role Duffy played. That’s on MSU for not touting its own role and impact. It’s frustrating as hell.

I also assumed MSU's role was more widely known. Amazing what you learn from outside your bubble.
