RIP. You never know when something like this might happen to one of us. We should all treat each other a little better.

If I can be so bold, let's remember Matt and the family for the people they were and are.. and not get into the perpetrator and what may have led to this. There will be a time and venue for that.
(not that anyone has gone there - it's simply my humble hope).
whenever someone passes away, especially a young person in such a tragic, unexpected fashion, I think the best we can do is honor them through the way we proceed on with our lives. Yeah, Matt was a message board poster to most of us, just like we all are to each other - but I think we can all agree that each and every one of us is more than "just a message board poster" to our community here and our friends and family beyond.
It's my hope that we can all be respectful of each other maybe more than we have been previously. Let's keep in mind that we're all Spartans and we're all here, to varying degrees, for that singular purpose. Let's remember that, too, we're all husbands, sons, fathers, wives, daughters, brothers and sisters and friends to those that we allow into our weird little lives.
Sorry to get preachy - but let's allow Matt to live on through us and the way we proceed with our own lives, both personally and here at tSwill.
Long live tSwill - and I do love and care about all you weirdos.
Cheers to Strangelove on a life will lived.. and I know he would want a good Go Green from us.

Holy shit. I just got a txt about it and came here to see if it was true. This is tragic news.
As someone else posted, we have a small group here, which I love. It is the reason I post here and not as much on tRCMB. Even though we don't all know each other outside of this board, I feel like I know all of you and we are all close in our own little way. I really enjoyed his posts and what he brought to the board. Especially on sports and gambling. We lost a good poster from our small little community. I never meet him, but I feel like I've lost a long freind. RIP Dr. Strangelove.

I felt the same way early this morning when I first read it. In fact, as I went back and read my first post, I referred to it as "strange"..steveschneider wrote:The whole thing has really upset me. I'm really sad to see two lives cut short this way and it is really hard to process it all.
like, wtf, Bob - "strange" is all you could come up with?

Given the bigger, real life and death outcome, I know it’s stupid of me to think this, but I wish Doc had at least been able to see MSU beat um later that day.
Also, can one of the mods please pin this to the top, so we make sure it stays up there? Thanks.

Saw this on Facebook.
Those who died yesterday had plans for this morning. And those who died this morning had plans for tonight. Don’t take life for granted. In the blink of an eye, everything can change. So forgive often and love with all your heart. You may never get to have that chance again.

One of his friends on the Facebook posted that "This win was for you" later that day. I had no idea why at the time.

FB Messenger. One of his friends sent me a message with the news late last night. Never met this friend but he is def a poster on the Spartan boards as he sent me a message previously in 2010 and is mutual friends with a number of us. I am still floored.

A gambling inspiration. Had a few short text convos with Doc about some bets back when we had the band together, as WBH would say. He and his family were in my thoughts all day today .. can't imagine what I would say to any of my students if this happened to them. RIP doc

Those girls have faced more in their short lives than an awful lot of adults, thank goodness Matt's parents are there so they can all help each other. Hope the other girl's family has help...
